  • Today, November 21st, is the last day that we are present with the Scale Up plant at Food ingredients Europe 2024 in Frankfurt, together with companies and partners such as Huijbregts Groep BV, Bodec, AlgaeHolland, ⚗️VARTA-ValorisatieLab, and Foodtech Brainport. This event is an important milestone for the initiative ‘Brabant: The Scale-Up Plant of Europe’, supported by BOM, REWIN West-Brabant, and the Provincie Noord-Brabant. Come and talk to our our partners at the Pavilion. VARTA Valorisation Lab for Horticultural and Agricultural Residual Streams (VARTA) VARTA is dedicated to transforming agricultural residual streams into valuable resources by extracting oils, dyes, fibers, and other compounds from plant waste. These extracted raw materials are then used to create product samples in various sectors such as cosmetics, food, paper, plant nutrition, and medicine. VARTA plays a key role in scaling up these innovations with a focus on bringing them to market. By using techniques as (steam)distillation, fermentation and juice pressing, VARTA transforms plant by-products into pilot products. Their approach builds a practical and accessible bridge between modern growers, sustainable cultivation practices, research, and commercial opportunities. VARTA works closely with growers and industrial partners to define clear business objectives, focusing only on research that directly supports viable business cases—letting them handle the rest of the process. Huijbregts Groep BV Group is a global leader in powder ingredient blending for the food industry. With 87 years of expertise, the company serves food manufacturers, ingredient suppliers, and developers, playing a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality, consistent blends for a vast range of products. Given that 80% of meals in the Netherlands contain powder ingredients mixed by Huijbregts, their reach is vast. Startups in the plant-based sector can benefit from Huijbregts' capacity to scale both small and large production batches, ensuring premium quality at every stage of growth. • APA Benelux 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻! In 2024, APA Benelux, a subsidiary of the Polish APA Group, chose to establish its presence at the Brainport Industries Campus in Eindhoven. Despite its small size, the company has big ambitions, says Managing Director Paul Castelijns. The team at APA Benelux is brimming with ideas about what they can bring to – and gain from – the #Brabant ecosystem. Since the start of the company, APA Group has centered on one key goal: making technology more human-friendly. Initially, the company focused on automation and robotics in production lines, serving major clients in the automotive industry. Another area in which the company has developed expertise is energy management, building control, and automation software, which is also the primary focus of APA Benelux. Their aim is to sell and implement proprietary software applications for Industry 4.0, also known as the Factory of the Future. “The people in Eindhoven are down-to-earth, and they understand the importance of technology”, says Paul. “𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦’𝘴 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘩 𝘥𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦. BOM’s recent 𝘐𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘛𝘰𝘶𝘳 offered the company a day packed with company visits across the region. These visits helped establish contacts and gain inspiration for areas where APA can add value to Brabant and vice versa. Read the entire showcase here 👉 https://lnkd.in/esH4DBNY Victoria Vasjuta
