Imagine transforming sewage sludge into solid biofuels, biogas, fertiliser, and treated water. With TNO spin-off TORWASH this vision becomes a reality. Every year, approximately 1.5 million tons of sludge is left over from wastewater treatment plants in the Netherlands. Thanks to the innovative TORWASH processing method developed by TNO, the volume of sludge is dramatically reduced by up to 85%. The remaining residue is much drier and can be repurposed as a valuable #fuel, paving the way for a cleaner and greener #future.
