We use blockchain to enable traceable, transparent and circular supply chains

Over ons

Circularise is a Dutch supply chain transparency software provider using blockchain technology to enable circular economy at scale. We believe better transparency is necessary to create a circular economy. We also understand that not every industry can be fully transparent. That’s why we developed a blockchain based supply chain traceability solution with a unique encryption technology ‘Smart Questioning’. It helps supply chain actors to trace products and verify the origins, certificates, carbon footprint and other material data backed by public blockchain based chain of custody and share sensitive product information without risking data privacy and confidentiality. Philips recently won the CSRD Award 2024 🙌 Philips has been recognised for its sustainable reporting, fully aligned with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). This award highlights their leadership in transparency and sets a great example for other companies preparing to comply with the upcoming regulations. The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive is an EU regulation requiring companies to report on their environmental, social, and governance impacts using a double materiality framework. Taking effect in 2025, CSRD aims to foster transparency, helping investors and stakeholders gain a holistic view of a company’s performance. To meet these requirements, companies need robust tools to track and report sustainability data across complex supply chains. Traceability software is essential for collecting granular information, identifying risks, and ensuring compliance with CSRD. Learn more about CSRD and how to comply here: https://loom.ly/NpGbieE

💥 We’re back from Slush 2024! Two days of impactful discussions and connecting with innovators alongside the Dutch delegation made Slush unforgettable.  One key takeaway: sustainability isn’t just the right thing to do—it pays off. Here’s how sustainability delivers measurable ROI:  1) Revenue growth and market positioning: A strong sustainability strategy sets your brand apart and opens doors to new opportunities.  2) Access to capital and financial performance:  Companies with strong ESG credentials attract funding and see improved shareholder value.  3) Strategic competitive advantage:  Sustainability drives innovation and market leadership.  4) Human capital management:  Purpose-driven initiatives attract top talent and boost employee engagement.  5) Risk mitigation:  Compliance with regulations avoids penalties and safeguards against environmental disruptions.  6) Operational efficiencies:  Optimising resource use cuts costs, reduces waste, and drives long-term savings.  We’re excited to apply these learnings as we continue our mission to make supply chains more transparent and sustainable.  Thank you to everyone who connected with us at Slush! 🎊 #Slush2024

At COP29, Al Gore gave us a sobering yet inspiring reality check. Climate change is accelerating, and corporate action can't wait any longer. Climate scientists' predictions have come true: the storms have arrived. Now companies must pivot - the climate demands it. We need a billion-dollar commitment to developing nations, and fast. A key takeaway from his speech is the urgent call for companies to make substantive changes. Rather than contributing to the problem by treating the atmosphere as a dumping ground for emissions, businesses should invest in renewable energy projects—especially in areas that can benefit most from reduced emissions and improved health outcomes. 🌱💡 It's high time for organisations to move beyond just pledges to action, to understand the intersection of health, environment, and social justice, and to lead by example in the sustainability movement. By doing so, we can collectively take a significant stride toward a sustainable future for all. Here are some of the highlights from his speech: https://loom.ly/7r1V1mc #ClimateAction #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #COP29

Did you know? A key requirement of the ESPR is the implementation of digital product passports (DPPs). Mandated under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), DPPs will soon become essential for a wide range of industries. 🚨 Key deadline alert: By 19 April 2025, products such as textiles, furniture, tyres, chemicals and paints will have to comply with the regulation. This is only the beginning—the list of regulated products will grow. 📊 Digital product passports are more than a tool—they’re a framework: DPPs integrate with other EU initiatives for digitisation, data sharing, and environmental compliance, forming a central part of the Circular Economy Action Plan. We have recently updated our regulation infographic with the newest deadlines and descriptions. To understand how DPPs connect with other regulations and what this means for your industry, check it out below!

What’s the difference between a Directive and a Regulation? It’s a question we hear often, and it’s not surprising. Understanding EU law can feel like navigating a maze. But here’s the good news: we’re here to simplify it for you. Let’s break it down: 🔹 A Regulation is law—clear, immediate, and universal. No matter where your business operates, if you’re in the EU, you must follow it. Take the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), which becomes mandatory from 19 July 2024. 🔹 A Directive is binding too, but it leaves room for Member States to decide how they’ll achieve the goals set by the EU. This approach allows for tailored solutions but always comes with a deadline. For example, early eco-design initiatives like the Integrated Product Policy (IPP) started as non-binding guidelines. Over time, these ideas took shape as the Ecodesign Directive—setting flexible goals for Member States. Now, they’ve evolved into the ESPR, a regulation with stricter requirements and immediate effect. Understanding these nuances can be powerful when you’re navigating compliance. Find out more about the legal landscape of the EU in our newest article: https://loom.ly/KTTVbco Questions? Let’s keep the conversation going below! ⬇️

Did you know that only 9% of all plastics are recycled each year? This low rate is not due to lack of intent. It is but due to two main reasons: 1) The complexity of plastics. 2) The lack of reliable information on quality of plastics. Recycled plastic products often produce lower-value materials. This makes it economically easier to burn them for heat or energy. A practice that isn’t environmentally sustainable. This is where projects like PRIMUS step in. PRIMUS Project EU is advancing new polymer recycling technologies. PRIMUS is researching how to produce compliant recycled materials. At Circularise, we’re proud to collaborate with PRIMUS. Digital product passports are a main tool to enhance sustainability. Together, we’re creating a circular future for the plastics industry. Learn how digital product passports are changing polymer recycling:
