This year's Drupaljam :open up was a resounding success, held in the fully sold-out DeFabrique Evenementenlocatie in Utrecht. Celebrating our 20th anniversary, we hosted an impressive lineup of international speakers, including Drupal founder Dries Buytaert and technophilosopher Rens van der Vorst. The event featured a wealth of engaging talks, workshops and discussion panels. Topics included innovation, future trends, Drupal Core and modules, open source, front- and back-end developments, hosting and user experience. There were also plenty of opportunities for socializing, delicious food and refreshing drinks. 🚀 Drupaljam 2024: Through the Eyes of an Organizer 🚀 As the lights dimmed and Matt Simons' "Open Up" filled the room, I felt goosebumps as we celebrated 20 amazing editions of Drupaljam. Organizing an event for 330 Drupal enthusiasts, with 25 speakers and two incredible keynotes at DeFabrique in Maarssen, has been an unforgettable journey. 🎉 This year, we wanted to make it extra special. Dries Buytaert, the founding father of Drupal, kicked off the event with an inspiring keynote on the "Past, Present, and Future of Drupal." There is a question I often ask myself "Who would I be if I were not afraid". Last year it got me again to participate in the Drupaljam as a speaker talking about Layout paragraphs. This year, I decided (and got accepted) to tell the story of who I was with fear and who I am without my limiting beliefs at the Drupaljam :open up. I also had the opportunity to put into practice overcoming fears not only by speaking in public but also by getting to talk to Dries Buytaert. If I were to describe this year's Drupaljam in one word, mine would be "Epic". Drupal changed my life. When I moved to NL, I was hired by a Drupal company to work in the SugarCRM team. Sadly I spent almost a year on the bench, trying to develop innovative features in SugarCRM so our Sales department could sell. My year contract was ending and there was enough work in Drupal so I decided to use my bench time to learn Drupal with 2 pet projects: my CV online and a small funda.nl like website for personal use to find a house since I was house-hunting. Long story short, funda.nl didn't have the criteria to search by that would satisfy me. Quickly my interest was noticed by my Drupal colleagues and that got me an extension of my contract and a transfer to one of the multiple Drupal teams. I would like to thank my first Drupal team Roeland Graat Arjan van der Pol Niels van Mourik Yusuf Gungormus Jaap Broeders Rik van Dalen (and many more in the company) That was the start that would lead me to this Epic Drupaljam #drupaljam #youwe #growthmindset #madcap

Het was fantastisch! Drupaljam 2024 afgelopen woensdag was alles wat het beloofde te zijn en meer. Uitverkochte zalen, bakkenvol met kennis in goed voorbereide sessies. Én inspirerende keynotes van Dries Buytaert en Rens van der Vorst.   Finalister Valerie deed een SOLR deepdive - Surfing Solr: Smart Searching and Snappy Suggestions!  Team David en Yustin schetsten het Creative Development Valhalla van Drupal en Next.js Boris liet zien hoe het mis (en goed) kan gaan met de toegankelijkheid van carousels, accordions en pop-ups; geholpen door onze Jasper Stroomer, die zelf visueel beperkt is. En team Wouter en Tom deden een 90ies throwback met 'Coding like it's 1999'.   Buiten kon je bij ons op de foto met Dries Buytaert.
