Ribblesdale High School in Clitheroe, UK, has taken a major step towards enhancing both performance and sustainability by installing a brand-new artificial grass sports pitch. Faced with the challenge of replacing their aging surface, they chose our innovative ‘Edel Athmos’ 3G system, designed to withstand daily use while reducing environmental impact. ‘Edel Athmos’ is crafted using recycled turf components, thanks to the recycling technology developed by Re-Match. Their process transforms end-of-life turf into raw materials that can be used to produce new turf. Paired with our ‘Edel Xero’ backing—also made from recycled turf components—the result is a circular, renewable, high-performance field that balances quality and environmental responsibility. Working alongside Blakedown Sport & Play Ltd, we provided the turf and system specifications for the project. They expertly removed the old surface and installed the new ‘Edel Athmos’ 3G system, ensuring a seamless transition from the old turf to the new one. I𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼 𝗛𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲 (𝗘𝗛𝗟) 𝗠𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗞𝗢𝟭𝟲! The 2024-25 EuroHockey Men's KO16 took place from October 3rd to 6th at Surbiton Hockey Club in England, marking the first time since 2012 that this prestigious tournament returned to England. 16 clubs from 11 countries competed in an exciting display of top-level hockey. 🏑 What made this event special for us was seeing all the matches played on our ‘Edel ID’ artificial hockey turf. Together with Blakedown Sport & Play Ltd, who installed these top-tier fields, we’re proud to have provided the surface that brought this thrilling competition to life. Alongside the tournament we co-hosted a small hospitality event with Blakedown on Friday, welcoming club managers, school and sports directors to watch the action and engage in insightful conversations on their upcoming pitch renovation or construction plans. Moreover, presented our latest innovation in dry-to-play hockey surfaces; ‘Edel Aero’! UEFA Women's EURO 2025 ticket sale kick-off on Edel Novum pitch! What better location to launch ticket sales for UEFA Women's Euro 2025 at the breathtaking Jungfraujoch, known as the "Top of Europe"? 🏔️ The event took place last 2nd of October. Especially for this launch, we supplied a custom mini-pitch with our infill-free system ‘Edel Novum’. The carpet was laid on top of a flat snow bed (thank you PistenBully 😎) and withstood the severe winds at a height of 3571 meter on the summit of Jungfraujoch! Although the original plan was to organize a 10 vs 10 match between the Swiss Women and an UEFA team, the overnight snow let the organization no choice to re-consider. Despite the snow and severe weather, the players pushed through and embraced the thrill of a penalty shootout — a true testament to their resilience! With UEFA Women's EURO 2025 on the horizon, events like this are powerful opportunities to inspire more girls to take up football, driving the global growth of women's football. As Ambassador Lara Dickenmann emphasizes: “There’s no greater legacy than encouraging the next generation to follow in the footsteps of today’s champions”! 𝗘𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗗𝗮𝘆 = 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 + 𝗙𝘂𝗻 + 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 🌟 Last week we had an incredible and productive Team Day! The entire Edel Team gathered in the board room of BC de Wetering / SC Genemuiden, where we shared key updates, reviewed our latest progress, and brainstormed about the future of Edel Grass and the industry we love. Between productive discussions and future-focused planning, we enjoyed nice sandwiches from Buitenbosch for lunch. Then it was time for some fun with a suitable team activity namely ‘𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘋𝘶𝘵𝘤𝘩 𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘫𝘦𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯’. 🥅 Everybody headed off to the main field, naturally installed with a top-of-the-line Edel Grass system, and prepared for action. It was only after two rounds of nerve-wracking kicks when our R&D manager ‘calculation is everything’ Frank Pfeiffer beat the youngsters and even the 🥖 French. Well done Frank! Finalizing an already perfect day, we headed towards Eetcafé 't Kraantje Zwartsluis for some fresh grilled meat and veggies to enjoy a delicious meal together. Moreover, we rewarded some of our finest colleagues with a certificate and a bottle of wine for excellent achievements. 👌🏻 It’s moments like these that remind us how important collaboration is to our success.
