𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝘅𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆! What an exciting week it has been during 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 at Hogeschool Saxion. From Monday to Friday three student teams took on the challenge of improving our dip-coating machine and today, they showcased their hard work and great 3D designs in the final pitches. We were truly impressed by the creativity, technical insights, and dedication shown by all teams. Each group delivered unique and well-thought-out designs! It’s inspiring to see fresh perspectives driving innovation forward, where we are stuck in our way of thinking. A huge 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 to all students for their efforts and enthusiasm. With such incredible talent and fresh ideas, we’re already excited to see what next year’s innovators will bring to the table! —hereby we share some of the designs with you.

We are happy to share this new paper on fabricating outer-skinned polyelectrolyte multilayer membranes by Tjerk Watt et al.! During the development of these membranes our spinning expert Kyra van Dijk could contribute some of her spinning expertise, which concluded in this nice paper.

She makes sure that everything is running smoothly behind the screens and ensures that our procurement and project administration processes are seamless, thus offering crucial support to all of our researchers. Reflecting on 2024: A Year of Growth, Identity, and Innovation at EMI Twente! As 2024 comes to a close, we’re looking back on an incredible year filled with achievements, growth, and transformation: ✅ 65+ membrane research projects completed, solving challenges and advancing membrane technology. ✅ 5 conferences attended, where we shared knowledge, built connections, and connected to worldwide industry. ✅ Team growth: Our dedicated team expanded to 20 passionate individuals. ✅ A new chapter: We opened our second location, enabling larger-scale pilot experiments and further scaling up module manufacturing trials. But 2024 wasn’t just about external accomplishments—it was also a year of self-reflection and transformation for EMI Twente. We took the time to define who we are and where we’re headed, resulting in a clear mission, vision, and ambition: 🌍 Mission: Realize positive societal impact through membrane R&D solutions that bridge the gap between academic research and industrial development. 🌱 Vision: The use of membranes contributes to a sustainable world with clean air, energy, water, and food. 🚀 Ambition: To become the #1 go-to R&D partner for membrane solutions. As part of this renewed identity, we’ve also embraced a fresh corporate identity—one that reflects who we are today and where we’re going.
