Over ons
The European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation helps prosecutors and judicial authorities to solve some of Europe’s most serious and complex crimes, including terrorism, trafficking in human beings, cybercrime, drug trafficking, corruption and fraud. Eurojust coordinates cross-border investigations and action days, supports joint investigation teams (JITs) and facilitates the use of judicial cooperation tools, such as confiscation orders, European Arrest Warrants (EAWs) and European Investigation Orders (EIOs). The Agency consists of prosecutors, judges and representatives of judicial authorities from the Member States. It also collaborates with third countries, several of which second Liaison Prosecutors to work at Eurojust’s premises in The Hague, the Netherlands. With contact points around the globe, the Agency is the gateway for prosecutors around the European Union to more than 70 jurisdictions worldwide.

⚠️ Drug traffickers have become increasingly violent in recent years, with drug trafficking often fuelling other serious crimes, such as human trafficking, environmental crime, cybercrime and labour exploitation. These interconnected threats jeopardise individual safety, as well as the stability and well-being of entire communities. 📍 Today in Brussels, Vice-President Boštjan Škrlec gave the opening remarks at the first European Conference on Drug-Related Violence, hosted by the European Union Drugs Agency (EUDA). At Eurojust, drug trafficking is consistently among the top three crime types we handle, and the scale of the problem has grown significantly. But despite ongoing efforts, several challenges remain, including the need to harmonise legislation, enhance data-sharing and bridge resource gaps. 💪 No single entity can tackle these challenges alone. But by working together as nations, institutions and across disciplines we can disrupt criminal networks, hold perpetrators accountable & protect our societies. Together we can #BreakTheCycle.

Every woman deserves to feel safe. Every girl deserves to dream freely. Let’s stand together to build a future without fear, injustice, or violence. We are committed to making this vision a reality. This year, our first ever EU legislation on combating violence against women and domestic violence entered into force. It criminalises: 🛑physical violence 🛑psychological 🛑economic 🛑and sexual violence against women across the EU, both offline and online. For the first time ever, we are criminalising gender-based cyber violence, such as non-consensual sharing of intimate images, including deepfakes. We will continue to do everything possible to protect victims and punish offenders. #UnionOfEquality #OrangeTheWorld #SpotTheViolence
