How to stay connected in Multicultural Team? Here’s how we do it in our organization across the Netherlands, Laos, Cambodia, Nepal, Vietnam, and Tanzania: Weekly Updates - Share fun facts about each country, like local traditions or popular festivals. - Explain the meaning of holidays, such as Tet in Vietnam or Dashain in Nepal, so everyone understands why they’re special. Quarterly Meetings - Celebrate international holidays together virtually, such as Diwali or Christmas. Group Chats - Use greetings in different languages like “Namaste,” “Xin chào,” or “Salaam” to make communication more personal. - Celebrate milestones like work anniversaries or achievements. Creating a multicultural team that works well together takes effort and understanding. We work to be better every day because together we are stronger and can help more people in need. #Christmas #Happyteam #ecf #newyear #holiday #eyecare #team

In the first half of November, fifteen satisfied donors visited the eye hospital in Pokhara and the eye clinics in Baglung and Gorkha - Nepal. “The great thing about a trip with Eye Care Foundation is that by visiting the eye hospitals you are no longer a tourist, but a participant; truly involved in the work of Eye Care Foundation. Seeing up close what you are donating for is fantastic” - Sybren Kalkman Each year, we organize a donation visit. It is always a memorable trip for all participants. Directly experiencing the outcomes of the donations on someone else’s life quality is simply a unique experience. Want to join us in 2025? Visit: https://lnkd.in/gC8WWFKA

The eye unit team in Laos, in collaboration with trained school teachers, has started vision screenings in rural area. In 25 school screenings, 2,255 students, including 790 girls, had their eyes checked. It's reported that the low number of students with refractive errors may be linked to limited screen time, as most students don't regularly use smartphones or electronics. Spending more time in nature and less time on screens can help prevent vision problems like refractive errors. #refractiveerrors #schoolscreenings
