Fanack is an independent organisation which aims to provide non-partisan facts and analysis of the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) and its history, society, economy, culture, water and energy crises from an Arab perspective. Fanack websites are tailored to those seeking a better understanding and knowledge of the wide variety of facets and assets of the region, be it students, academics, business people and policymakers, tourists and travellers. The Fanack websites offers an unprecedented collection of free independent sources of information for those seeking a better understanding, new insights in and knowledge of the region. Its regional contributors (acclaimed academics and journalist) aim to present impartial comprehensive information from a local, regional and international perspective, looking beyond conventional topics such as security threats. The Fanack Foundation (Stichting Fanack Nederland) has been set up in The Hague for international donors and organisations which share the idea of the importance of providing free, not biased or partisan, reliable information on the Middle East & North Africa region and wish to make a contribution. The Fanack regional academics and journalist contributors are being kept anonymous to ensure the impartial comprehensive information on its websites. Fanack is an independent organisation based in the Netherlands. It was founded by publisher and editor-in-chief Dr. Antonie Dake, former foreign correspondent and chief political editor for Dutch newspapers and public television. Editorial and research teams are responsible for the websites, within the structure of the private limited company Fanack B.V. Contributors to Fanack.com include external scholars and journalists, mainly from Europe and the Middle East & North Africa region.
