Advancing Sustainable Mobility through Collaboration: CircuLEV ✨ Last week, representatives from Duracar, EPAL, INC., Compoform B.V., and Saxion University of Applied Sciences came together to discuss the progress, objectives, and strategic actions for the innovative CircuLEV project. This collaboration, supported by the European Regional Development Fund (EFRO) and the Province of Gelderland through the EFRO-Oost program, represents a pivotal step towards advancing circularity in the Light Electric Vehicle (LEV) industry. Our collective goal: To design and develop a TRL8-level prototype of a 100% circular LEV, featuring: - An advanced long-lifetime battery, ensuring efficiency and durability. - A 100% recyclable thermoplastic composite body, setting new benchmarks in sustainability and reducing waste. The recent meeting provided an excellent opportunity to align our visions, review project milestones, and establish a clear roadmap for the next phases of development. Through the combined expertise of industry leaders and academic innovators, CircuLEV aims to drive transformative change in sustainable mobility and set a new standard for environmentally conscious vehicle design. We’re wrapping up 2024 on a high note with the addition of the Tinius Olsen 50ST testing machine, supplied by Benelux Scientific. This high-performance system enables us to perform extensive tensile tests on sandwich components and bending tests on our sandwich panels. During an intensive training session, our R&D team became proficient in operating this testing equipment. With this new capability, we’ll soon be able to provide personalized data sheets with orders and further improve our quality control.💪 This marks another step in our commitment to quality and reliability. Visiting this impressive site and witnessing how our flooring is being utilized as a lightweight, water resistant, efficient solution in the construction of these state-of-the-art salmon tanks was truly inspiring. Our goal is to overcome recycling challenges by preserving the glass fiber length, ensuring superior mechanical properties such as stiffness and impact resistance.
