🫂Has #COP29 thrown climate-vulnerable nations a financial lifeline for an energy transition? Under the theme "In Solidarity for a Green World," GOGLA, represented by Patrick Tonui, our Head of Policy, was at COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan! 🌍 We highlighted how #OffGridSolar is transforming energy access and resilience for underserved communities. 🌱 Plus, we explored exciting policy insights at the water-energy-food nexus. What did we see happening in the world of #EnergyAccess? ⚡ 🗺️ The World Bank and African Development Bank Group's Mission 300 (#M300) is working to bring energy to 300M people in Africa by 2030, while Australia has committed $125M to energy access across the Pacific! 🤝 The conversation isn't just about energy access anymore. There's massive potential for collaboration across sectors! New GOGLA partners, such as UNIDO and UNDP are showing how energy is key to driving growth in agriculture, healthcare, and more. 📗New reports, like the 2024 UNEP Emissions Gap and The Adaptation Gap, highlight that financial support for both energy access and climate goals is still lacking.  🏛️To make an impact, we need all stakeholders: governments must create environments that attract private investment, while public funding and subsidies ensure no one is left behind. The private sector is key to achieving energy access and climate goals. A lot of talk, but will it lead to action? 🤔 At GOGLA and across the industry, we must stay engaged to make real impact.
