𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐈𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞 🍓 Together with strong partners Delphy, VDL Groep, and YieldComputer, we are developing our #Autonomous #Irrigation module. The project aims to steer irrigation using our #AI algorithms, which are strengthened by automated yield predictions and crop planning. The plants of the first field trail have just been planted at Delphy ISFC. And they are already looking beautiful 👌. We are very excited about the results of this coming growing season! This project is possible with the support of OP Zuid and the Provincie Noord-Brabant. Together, we are accelerating the development of technology that will make the horticultural sector future-proof.

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬? Many growers have recently started their new growing cycle. Although the young plants can use all the help they can get, the sun doesn't always cooperate ☁️. The recent dark days (at least here in Holland) have made it difficult for the plants to evaporate and absorb water, limiting their root development. Because of the limited transpiration, you have to limit your watering. However, you want to maintain the right #balance in plant development, such as EC in the slab. To keep track of all the different variables, it is recommended that you set and adjust your #thresholds in the #Growboard. Our Thresholds tool gives you full control over your threshold settings. You can also receive #pushmessages on your computer or phone if the water content drops too much or the EC rises too fast. This gives you more control, so you can react quickly and focus on other things to create the strongest plants possible for the next season. Want to learn more? Our Grower Success Manager Cannabis, Tom de Vreugd, recently visited Innexo BV, a research lab dedicated to advancing cannabis cultivation. Under the guidance of Ramon van Esch, MSc student in Plant Sciences from Wageningen University & Research, Innexo is conducting a groundbreaking trial to examine how varying dryback intensities influence plant stretch and yield. Tom captured a video with Ramon, where he delves into the objectives and potential impacts of this trial. This is important for the cannabis industry, as understanding the nuances of dryback leads to optimized irrigation strategies, resulting in improved output in cannabinoids, better quality, fewer staff interventions, and saving resources. At Growficient, we are committed to providing growers with a state-of-the-art tool to optimize irrigation practices. That is also why we are driven to learn more about dry back in cannabis cultivation. What is your perspective on dryback in crop steering?

𝗡𝗲𝘄: 𝗼𝘂𝗿 "𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲" 𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀! We have something new: the Deepdive video series. These are short videos in which we explain how to read our graphs and how data can be used to optimize irrigation. These clips will be exclusively available for our customers on our Growboard. However, we will occasionally share one with you. Like this one 👍. This video is about #dryout / #dryback. Our colleague Dennis Steentjes explains how to read these graphs. A few topics that are discussed: 👉 Why the overnight dry-back is so essential to get higher oxygen levels in the substrate 👉 How you can define the last irrigation shot to get the desired overnight dry-back 👉 How to reduce plant stress during the day by building up the dry-outs between shots 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗗𝗿𝘆-𝗢𝘂𝘁 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝘀 𝘀𝗼 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁? Water Content readings can differ when using sensors compared to scales. This is due to differences in substrate, dry spots in the substrate, and differences in water uptake behavior and root development per plant. With the Dry-Out graphs, you look at the water uptake, not the moisture level. We recommend always using our Dry-Out graphs in addition to the standard Water Content graphs to compare readings accurately and make data-driven decisions. Since these graphs provide so much information, they have become Dennis’s go-to tool for analyzing our customers' irrigation strategies. We hope you find this clip helpful. We’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas for future topics.

𝐎𝐟𝐟 𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 🚀 Many vegetable growers are busy preparing for the new growing season. But how do you place your Growficient sensors before placing your cubes on the substrate? The placement depends mainly on the length of the sensor probes. After all, you only want to measure the volume of the cube, so make sure that the pins don't stick through the slab at the bottom, for example. ➡️ 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 (𝟗𝟓𝐦𝐦) 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐬 We recommend placing them on the side of the cube, with the pins horizontally, about halfway through the cube. ➡️ 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 (𝟕𝟎𝐦𝐦) 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐬 These sensors can be placed from the top of the block. We recommended putting a second (empty) block next to it to prevent the block from falling over due to the weight of the plant. Interested in learning more?
