𝘐𝘋𝘌𝘙𝘏𝘈 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘴𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦. During its 5 year duration, hundreds of scientists will invest their time and talent in IDERHA. Many of them will be Master students or PhD students, or scientists at the start of a career switch. IDERHA wants to give them something back. That's why we started the Early Career Community, dedicated to helping people in IDERHA to develop themselves beyond their scientific skills. In Vienna, the ECC met up for the first time. We learned about their guilty pleasures, favorite books, hidden talents, and much more. But also about their challenges and needs. All ECC members were paired with a mentor, a more senior scientist, who will help them in the coming years to develop themselves. Stefan Sauermann of Fachhochschule Technikum Wien provided a tour of the university's research facilities and offered the IDERHA ECC members access to a broad range of courses. There was no shortage of ambition and determination to make Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) project IDERHA a success during the extended steering committee meeting of the project. 18 months underway, IDERHA is firmly on its course to create a platform that integrates heterogeneous health data. Or, as someone put it: "We are building a secure and accelerated path to data." Coming together in #Vienna with 60 core members of the project, we exchanged progress, challenges, and visions for the future. Highlights included: ➡️the technical progress on the algorithms and infrastructure ➡️the finalization of the legal framework ➡️development of a Guide Book to support the onboarding of data providers and data users ➡️the sub-meeting of the #EarlyCareerCommunity ➡️an assessment of the implications of the #AIAct for the project ➡️a first exploration of making our output sustainable after the project end And obviously, coming from all corners of Europe and the US, a highlight of unmeasurable value included seeing each other face to face again, and enjoying beautiful Christmas-themed Vienna together! We'd like to especially thank Lukas Rohatsch and Stefan Sauermann for their hospitality in Fachhochschule Technikum Wien! #patientengagement #datascience #artificialintelligence #AI #machinelearning #realworlddata #RWD #realworldevidence #RWE #datainfrastructure #dataaccess #securedataenvironment #secureprocessingenvironment #remotemonitoring #healthdata #healthdataspace #healthpolicymaking #HTA #EHDS #lungcancer

🫁 𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 🫁 "Ultimately, data saves lives, not only in lung cancer but also in many other diseases, including chronic and rare conditions. " IDERHA aims to improve the lives of lung cancer patients by addressing the obstacles in accessing, integrating and analysing health data to maximise their value for patient care and medical research. Gozde Susuzlu Briggs from European Patients' Forum is involved in IDERHA and highlights the importance of our work for lung cancer patients. “Data use in lung cancer care is important for improving diagnosis, treatment, and overall patient outcomes. By using patient data, healthcare providers can detect lung cancer earlier, find patterns that help create personalised treatments, and track disease progress more effectively. Access to this data supports better decision-making, allowing for more accurate and timely care. My motivation to work on the IDERHA project comes from a personal commitment to making a difference for patients. I believe that improving how we collect and use health data can greatly enhance care and improve the quality of life for patients and their families.” #LCAM #patientengagement #datascience #AI #machinelearning #realworlddata #RWD #realworldevidence #RWE #datainfrastructure #dataaccess #remotemonitoring #healthdata #healthdataspace #healthpolicymaking #HTA #EHDS #lungcancer

🫁 𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 🫁 Lung Cancer Europe (LuCE) is one of IDERHA's partners. They are the voice of lung cancer patients, their families and survivors at European level. Each year, LuCE runs a campaign to raise awareness of lung cancer and this year's theme is: "Get Educated". Contrary to popular belief, lung cancer is not limited to older people or those with a history of smoking. Lung cancer does not discriminate and anyone with lungs can develop lung cancer. IDERHA supports LuCE's campaign and during Lung Cancer Awareness Month we would like to raise money for next year's campaign. To donate to the Get Checked 2025 campaign, please click the link and mention "IDERHA" in the donation details to ensure your contribution is properly allocated! 👉 https://lnkd.in/dMxV-TJi Thank you for your support! #GetChecked #GetEducated #LuCE #LCAM #patientengagement #datascience #AI #machinelearning #realworlddata #RWD #realworldevidence #RWE #datainfrastructure #dataaccess #remotemonitoring #healthdata #healthdataspace #healthpolicymaking #HTA #EHDS #lungcancer

🫁 𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 🫁 "I am motivated to work at IDERHA because of the innovative approach to leveraging data and artificial intelligence to address critical health challenges, particularly in lung cancer detection." November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Within IDERHA we aim to improve the life of lung cancer patients by addressing the obstacles in accessing, integrating and analysing health data. IDERHA strongly values patients participation to make sure that our work is benefitting patients on the long term. The Patient Advisory Board provides the patient perspective in the project. Debra Montague is one of the PAB members and reflects on the importance of Lung Cancer Awareness Month and IDERHA. "Data use in lung cancer care is crucial for enhancing diagnosis and treatment outcomes. By leveraging large datasets from clinical trials, electronic health records, and genomic studies, healthcare providers can identify patterns and trends that inform more accurate diagnostic methods and personalized treatment plans. Advanced analytics and machine learning algorithms can assist in predicting disease progression, tailoring therapies to individual patient profiles, and monitoring treatment responses in real time. This data-driven approach not only improves the precision of interventions but also fosters a deeper understanding of lung cancer biology, ultimately leading to better patient outcomes and survival rates. I am motivated to work at IDERHA because of the innovative approach to leveraging data and artificial intelligence to address critical health challenges, particularly in lung cancer detection. The prospect of developing AI-enabled models to identify individuals at high risk for lung cancer resonates deeply with my passion for using technology to improve patient outcomes. I believe that early detection is vital in combating this disease, and being part of a team that potentially empowers clinicians with advanced tools and insights is incredibly fulfilling." #LCAM #patientengagement #datascience #AI #machinelearning #realworlddata #RWD #realworldevidence #RWE #datainfrastructure #dataaccess #remotemonitoring #healthdata #healthdataspace #healthpolicymaking #HTA #EHDS #lungcancer
