🌍💡 Impact Hydrogen at the Nigeria Conference on Hydrogen 2024 🇳🇬 At Impact Hydrogen, we are dedicated to developing and accelerating hydrogen projects that contribute to regional prosperity and sustainable growth. Our mission aligns closely with the goals of the First National Conference and Exhibition on Hydrogen, where our colleague, Awwal Ibrahim, is proudly representing us in Abuja, Nigeria 🇳🇬. Held from November 26th to 28th, 2024, at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, this event is a significant step in shaping Nigeria’s role in the global hydrogen economy. Organised by the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources of Nigeria and the Foundation for Sustainable Social Responsibility in Emerging Africa (FOSSREA), the conference brings together policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, and international stakeholders to discuss cutting-edge hydrogen technologies, policy frameworks, and investment opportunities. Wat is er nodig voor een eerlijke energietransitie die oude koloniale patronen doorbreekt en echt iedereen ten goede komt? 🌍 In Zuid-Afrika gaat de winning van grondstoffen voor de productie van groene waterstof gepaard met waterschaarste en -vervuiling, energiearmoede en een toename van gender-gerelateerd geweld. Tegelijkertijd worden gemeenschappen rondom de mijnen nauwelijks betrokken bij de besluitvorming over mijnbouwactiviteiten. This week, we visited #SaldanhaBay Special Economic Zone, where the South African 🇿🇦 green hydrogen hub is developed as part of the South Africa - Namibia Green Hydrogen Corridor. 💡 Today at the #SASEC2024 Conference our colleague Sharon Becker will join the Skills Development Panel. This panel will explore pathways to ensure the adequate and timely development of #HydrogenSkills and the required #EcosystemSkills to meet the needs of the new hydrogen economy in Southern Africa.
