This week colleagues from Canada will present ongoing collaborative work between Brazil and Canada on Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) modeling at Scaling Up in Ottawa, Canada. This work is being led by Mission colleagues Eduardo do Couto e Silva, Marzouk Benali, Cédric Diffo Téguia, Mateus Ferreira Chagas as well as others at CanmetENERGY in Varennes and Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM) #ScalingUp2024, #InternationalCollaboration #MissionInnovation #IntegratedBiorefineries
🌍 An international commitment to sustainable biofuels! Our colleague Marzouk Benali, Scientific Researcher from the Industry Group, will represent #CanmetVarennes as a panelist at the Scaling Up Bio 2024 conference (November 25-27). The panel, moderated by Glenn Hargrove, Associate Deputy Minister of the Canadian Forest Service (NRCan), will focus on the commercialization of biofuels through international collaboration. 💡 Marzouk will share his expertise in a presentation titled: "Enhancing techno-economic and carbon intensity consistency in bio-SAF production across biomass sources: A path to global standardization." This panel is part of the Integrated Biorefineries Mission (IBM) initiative, where Canada and Brazil are working closely together to harmonize the techno-economic and environmental assessment of sustainable biofuel production. Canada focuses on the conversion of forest residues, while Brazil works with sugarcane residues, with the aim of implementing a harmonized framework for IBM member countries. 👏 Congratulations to Marzouk and the teams involved: Cédric Diffo Téguia, Georgiana Bele, M.Sc.A, Andrew Klain, and Mehdi Lakhdari!
