Recently published in #VoxSanguinis The recent retrospective cohort study on immunoglobulin G (IgG) homeostatic set point and recovery time in plasmapheresis donor safety monitoring reveals key findings on donor health and IgG levels: 🔬 IgG levels decline by 5%–11% after age 45. ⚠️ The strongest predictor of low IgG (<6 g/L) post-donation is low IgG concentration at recruitment. 📅 IgG levels in regular donors (every 14–21 days) drop by about 1 g/L and plateau in the first year. ⏳ It takes around 12 weeks for IgG to return to its homeostatic set point after plasmapheresis. Recently published in #VoxSanguinis! An experimental comparison of three dried plasma products reveals promising results for fast reconstitution and effective coagulation factor delivery. All three products showed comparable concentrations and normal clot formation using thromboelastography. Reconstitution was achieved in under 10 minutes (with potential for even faster results), and packaging in plastic bags was highlighted as a key benefit for users.
