  • Please join us in welcoming Frankie Wong to the ITEC team as our Operations Director in Wuxi, China! 👏 Frankie spent over 18 years in field service before making the switch to operations. This wealth of experience will be invaluable as he tackles the challenges of opening our newest production line. He learned about ITEC through his time in our industry and was especially interested in our game-changing Die Bonder machines that are making it easy for customers to switch to flip chip technology. As a matter of fact, the first shipments of the world's fastest Die Bonder, boasting an impressive speed of 72,000 units per hour, are on their way to customers in Asia and the US. But more on that later this week… Frankie is an explorer at heart and has particularly enjoyed his time in Europe. We recently welcomed him to our HQ in Nijmegen and are happy to report that he enjoyed his time in our "wonderful, welcoming and charmingly small" city. Amsterdam, Regensburg, and Munich are a few of his favorite cities so far, with the stunning architecture being a highlight. He's also a huge fan of mountains, but lovingly pointed out that the Netherlands only has a few slight hills. 😀 Luckily, he's been fortunate enough to spend time in the Alps to get a few meters above sea level.

  • 🚀Igniting Innovation at ITEC’s Tech Forum   We recently hosted our annual ITEC Technical Forum, a platform designed to celebrate creativity, recognize talent and foster a culture of continuous improvement.   This year, we saw an impressive array of submissions, showcasing the incredible talent and dedication of our engineers. Our esteemed panel of judges, René Poelma, Sven Walczyk, Cornelis (Kees) Bos and Marcel Tichem from Delft University of Technology, evaluated submissions based on technical merit, innovation, and presentation skills. What makes these forums special?   Beyond Technology: We focused not only on technical achievements but also on the human element - teamwork, problem-solving, and presentation skills. A Celebration of Talent: We recognized the outstanding contributions of our engineers and gave the rest of our team a peak behind the R&D curtain. Empowering the Next Generation: We were amazed to see how young engineers, even interns, contributed groundbreaking ideas and innovative solutions.   “The first forum was held back in 2015 and is a tradition we’re committed to keeping. Every company, even lean ones like ITEC, benefits when they take time to recognize hard work and give teams the chance to share their impact with peers. We’re on a mission to redefine semiconductor manufacturing, and we’re well on our way judging by the inspiring results of this year’s forum.” – Joep Stokkermans, R&D Director.   A BIG congratulations to our winners:   1st Place: Wafer foil expansion by Ralph Huybers and Bram Linders (intern!) 2nd Place: Reverse push up unit by Sjors Kamps, Remco van Hoorn and Luuk Arts 3rd Place: Iterative learning control by Bastiaan and George   A special thank you to our dedicated organizing team: Sai Abhinand, Hans Kuipers, and Merwi Groos. Let's continue to foster a culture of innovation and recognition!

  • It’s a pleasure to welcome ITEC’s first Service Engineer supporting the Americas, Sergio Gonzalez. Hailing from Mexico, Sergio has had a lifelong passion for exploring and tinkering with the inner workings of cars and machines. Eventually, passion turned into a profession as he began his career as a Service Engineer five years ago. We were flattered to hear from Sergio that he’s thoroughly enjoyed the recruitment process and the chance to spend some time in Nijmegen for onboarding. "It’s an awesome environment, the food is fantastic, and I love seeing bikes everywhere. It’s great to be part of a company that truly cares about the environment!" Full disclosure, Sergio clarified that he enjoys the multicultural cuisine options available in the Netherlands slightly more than Dutch food 😉 When he’s not engineering on his own time, Sergio enjoys travelling and has picked China as his favorite destination so far. “I immediately felt like I stepped into the future when I arrived, and the people were all so welcoming!” 🥳Join us in giving Sergio a warm welcome as he embarks on this exciting journey with us!

  • You don’t often get to welcome someone to the team three times, but here we are. 😃 Matthijs Dolsma began his journey with ITEC as a trainee in 2001 when we were still a part of Philips. His mentor at the time, Joep Stokkermans, currently ITEC R&D Director, advised Matthijs to return to uni. After completing a master’s degree at the University of Eindhoven, his second stint with ITEC began in 2008 when he volunteered to move to Hong Kong to become the linking pin between R&D software engineering in Nijmegen and the ITEC Asia department. The ITEC Engineering, Service and Operations teams are close to the Semiconductor BE Manufacturing Facilities, and the Asian Supply base. What was initially planned as a three-to-four-year project, turned into a 13-year stay as he quickly fell in love with the country and even found time to help his wife form an AI education startup. He made the most of his leisure time in Hong Kong by taking part in many outdoor activities, including organizing many hikes in the lesser-known but absolutely stunning nature surrounding the city.   Recently, Matthijs chose to relocate back to the Netherlands and had a chance to meet with his old mentor, Joep. Over a beer in Hong Kong, they talked about the possibility of returning to ITEC Nijmegen, and from there things moved quickly. We’re happy to have him back on board and can’t wait to see how he leverages his unique experience as an entrepreneur in Asia and Europe combined with knowledge of the ITEC journey from Philips department to an independent company on a mission to “Redefine Semiconductor Manufacturing”.   What brought Matthijs back to ITEC?   "Small company feel, big impact. We're part of a larger network, but maintain a startup mindset of rapid response and seizing opportunities."
