De vijf Amsterdamse spoorbruggen, een essentieel onderdeel van het Nederlandse spoornetwerk, worden vervangen om in 2030 meer treinverkeer mogelijk te maken. 🎡 𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗷𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗹: The design of an Iconic ferris wheel How do you transform a Ferris wheel concept into a feasible design? The Beijing Great Wheel, with a height of 208 meters, 48 capsules, and a speed of 3 rotations per hour, was set to dominate the skyline of Beijing. But bringing this ambitious project to life required more than just a visionary idea. Iv's solution? ▪️ 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Iv worked with specialists on the load cases for earthquakes and typhoons, as well as the assembly methodology. ▪️ 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘀𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱: Limited to 0.25 m/s for safety, considering the wheel’s enormous size and speed. ▪️ 𝗟𝗼𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆: Iv conducted practical tests with large groups to design a moving boarding platform and ensure safe disembarking. A technical marvel, drawing on Iv's experience with iconic projects like the London Eye, demonstrating how we turn complex challenges into feasible designs. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟮.𝟲 𝗸𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗺’𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗮 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 🚢 Port of Rotterdam has chosen MariTeam Engineering VOF - a collaboration between Iv, SBE, and MUC Ingenieursbureau BV - to design 2.6 km of new deep-sea quay walls for the Delta Terminal at Europahaven. Under the name 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘖𝘔𝘌𝘎𝘈, this project supports the development of a modern container terminal for Hutchison Ports, Terminal Investment Limited Sàrl (MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company), and the Port of Rotterdam. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲? ▪️ 𝘐𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯: The new anchored quay wall will be built close to the existing structure, reducing the impact on the harbor basin. ▪️ 𝘚𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯: The existing quay wall will be incorporated into the design, aiming for a lifespan of 100 years. At the same time, we are in Benin, West Africa 🌍, using our expertise to ensure the reliability and continuity of container cranes. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀? With advanced measurements such as: ▪️ High-quality control measurements ▪️ 3D damage assessments ▪️ Structural measurements using tachymetry ▪️ Flatness assessments of gearbox foundations We also frequently oversee machining processes during revisions or the replacement of main shafts. 𝗣𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 Huisman Iv is proud to have contributed to the engineering of one of the world’s largest cranes: 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗥𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗲 (𝗛𝗥𝗖 𝟯𝟬𝟬𝟬). This 240-meter giant, commissioned by BMS HEAVY CRANES, sets a new standard in heavy lifting. 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: ▪️ Basic and detailed engineering for critical components, including the main boom, jib, stay beams, and back mast. ▪️ Development of an automated FEA model to calculate crane configurations efficiently. ▪️ Tailored solutions to ensure high-strength steel was ordered within a tight six-week timeline. The crane is now operational in northern Denmark, where it is being used to build 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀, contributing to the energy transition. 𝗢𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘃𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗱𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗱 Met de toenemende uitdagingen van #klimaatverandering worden slimme waterbeheersingsoplossingen steeds belangrijker. In verhard stedelijk gebied kan regenwater vaak niet goed de bodem in trekken, wat leidt tot overstromingen. De oplossing? Ondergrondse wateropvangsystemen zoals 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝘀. Sleufloze technieken, zoals gestuurde boringen, zijn essentieel voor het aanleggen van deze systemen zonder de bovenliggende infrastructuur te verstoren. In Kopenhagen heeft Iv deze technieken toegepast bij klimaatadaptatieprojecten zoals Strandboulevarden en Kalvebod. ✔️ Voor Strandboulevarden werden drie doorpersingen uitgevoerd met diameters van 2000-2500 mm over een totale lengte van 1075 meter. ✔️ In Kalvebod voerden we twee doorpersingen uit van 3000 mm diameter, over een lengte van 1245 meter. Voor beide projecten verzorgde Iv de plaatsbepaling van de tunnelboormachines (TBM’s) met ons eigen CoMeT-systeem, dat real-time data levert en zorgt voor nauwkeurige monitoring van het boren. Samen met Gemeente Hoeksche Waard en Beens Groep werken wij aan een duurzame, veilige en toekomstbestendige haven. Van technisch ontwerp tot contractmanagement en toezicht: we zorgen ervoor dat deze iconische plek zowel haar charme behoudt als klaar is voor de toekomst. Met innovatieve technieken – en ja, zelfs een tijdelijk drooggelegde haven – pakken we uitdagingen zoals lekkende kademuren en hoogwaterproblemen aan. De nieuwe kademuren zullen hoogwater, sterke stroming en golven vanuit de Oude Maas weerstaan, en bieden een veilige ligplaats voor woonschepen en panden rondom.
