JePPIX is unleashing PIC technology and has successfully brought the European InP photonic integrated circuit (PIC) community together as a coherent force to advance and promote this technology. JePPIX provides: - 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆: The Process Design Kit (PDK) at the heart of the multiproject wafers technology provides seamless cooperation between designers, software developers, fabs, and prototype builders and one-stop-shop brokering. - 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: enabling major advances in technology building blocks, leveraging know-how from multiple academic and industrial partners, across a number of joint R&D projects. JePPIX R&D focusses on InP and SiNx integration platforms as well as hybrid combinations. - 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺𝘀: enabling designers to skill up and connect with innovators and experts in the photonic integration ecosystem. JePPIX connects at expos, workshops and offers training courses around the globe. - 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: this is at the heart of what we do. The JePPIX Roadmap maps out the future evolution of technology, markets and the eco-system. Be a part of the next JePPIX Roadmap by completing the new technology PIC designer survey. The JePPIX eco-system includes many businesses spread across process development, chip fabrication, packaging, software development, design and training and several hundred users and members. High performance InP and low-loss dielectric SiNx TriPleX waveguide technologies are highly complementary. Because of the organizational similarity in handling MPW runs, JePPIX supports both InP and TriPleX technology.

Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute HHI has made some significant improvements to their Multi-Project Wafer service 💪🏼 🔹 The fabrication of Photonic Integrated Circuits needs precise and thorough planning 🔍 Long fabrication does not only affect the current wafer run but also has an impact on upcoming wafer runs. Fraunhofer HHI’s stable fabrication process now enables fast prototyping with lead times of less than 5 months for multi-project and dedicated wafer runs 🔥 🔹 Customers now benefit from improvements of crucial building blocks, leading to lower optical losses, higher optical output power and increased speed 🚀 Better performance of the DFB laser allows customers to design high-density PICs 💡 Would you like to hear more about Fraunhofer HHI’s latest developments?
