Workshop on Digital Accessibility In the past few weeks, Ruud Otten and Ibtissam Bel Assal organized several workshops on accessibility for the Digital team and the Digital Marketing team. During the sessions, the central question was how the online experience can be improved for everyone. Accessibility is not just about meeting EU legal requirements; it’s much broader and impacts the overall user experience. For example, a mother holding her baby may temporarily experience a limitation and struggle to navigate a website or mobile app with one hand. This awareness changes the way digital experiences are designed. By stepping into the shoes of users with coordination or visual impairments, it becomes clear how important it is to truly understand how people experience websites and mobile applications. Our Supplier Visit to tesa 🌱 Together with our ESG-team, we recently visited tesa to discuss our sustainability goals and explore ways to make our collaboration more sustainable. During our visit, we got a behind-the-scenes look at Tesa’s processes. We discussed our sustainability goals and how they use eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient production methods to minimize their environmental impact. Additionally, just like Maxeda, tesa has committed to SBTi, has good insight into Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, and most of its products have Forest Stewardship Council-certification. We would like to thank tesa for the warm welcome and the valuable insights. Connecting and inspiring: Maxeda's leadership event 🤝🏾🌍 Last week, 80 key colleagues from Maxeda, Praxis Doe-Het-Zelf Center B.V., and Brico came together for an inspiring evening and day at De Ruwenberg Hotel | Meetings | Events. This leadership event focused on connection, inspiration, and looking ahead. Alongside informal conversations and networking, there was plenty of opportunity for knowledge sharing.  Our CEO Guy COLLEAU kicked off the event by introducing the two topics of the day: AI and sustainability. CDO & CIO Erik Cuypers set the stage with his insights on how Maxeda embraces AI followed by a keynote of renowned speaker and bestselling author Peter Hinssen who inspired the group with his views on the impact of AI on our future. The event concluded with a joint session where colleague Maarten Ramp presented an update on Maxeda’s sustainability strategy, outlining our path to 42% less carbon emissions by 2030 and becoming net zero by 2050. Maarten was then joined by climate and weather expert Reinier Van Den Berg, who delivered a thought-provoking discussion on the effects of climate change and how this could impact our organization. New video series: Building a sustainable future! 💚🌱 At Maxeda DIY Group, we are committed to an ambitious goal: reducing our CO2 emissions by 42% by 2030 (compared to 2020 levels) and achieving net-zero by 2050. A significant portion of these emissions comes from our supply and distribution chain, which makes collaboration with our suppliers essential. Recently, we visited some of our (Own Brand) suppliers in China and saw firsthand how they are contributing to a greener future. From harnessing solar energy and using more sustainable materials to extending product lifespan and improving eco-friendly packaging, their efforts are truly inspiring. In our new video series, we showcase these impactful initiatives. Today, we're excited to launch the introduction episode! 🎥 P.S.: We’re moving with the times and introducing 'Maxime,' the AI voice of Maxeda. Maxime is still in the early stages of development and has a lot to learn, so she may not always pronounce everything perfectly. Visit to Schijvens 💚 Two weeks ago, we visited our clothing supplier Schijvens Corporate Fashion Hilvarenbeek B.V., a long-standing reliable partner for our sustainable workwear. During this visit, we had an in-depth conversation with Shirley Schijvens about their innovative recycling processes and how they integrate sustainability at all levels of their organization. We also recorded videos to share these inspiring initiatives internally, allowing our colleagues to actively engage with the sustainable steps we are taking. Of course, we are open to feedback from our colleagues, which is actively used to improve our workwear. At Maxeda DIY Group, we are committed to our "Make it Sustainable" strategy.
