Sound gets around in South Africa! "The slaptjips market is loving this variety and screams for more", says Morkel Hoffmann of First Potato Dynamics (FPD). Pictures from the Sound production in the area of Vryburg, NorthWest province. The stress-resistant and high yielding variety was harvested just before the holiday season after 85 days of growing. "Sound grows here under hot conditions. When they were lifted it was 39 degrees Celsius. Still a yield of 72 ton per hectare were harvested, with an excellent pack out of 91 percent 1st grade."
