Merlin is what they call a creative “Code Boutique”. It’s a fancy way of saying that Merlin can help you craft immersive web experiences like a premium website or WebXR product — especially experiences where real-time 3D is the key to the puzzle. Agencies and forward-thinking businesses knock on Merlin's door to gain an unfair advantage through Merlin's magical team of creative developers and strategists. As a Digital Production Studio, Merlin likes to craft immersive digital experiences, which others don't dare touch. Luckily Merlin leans on experience (and some magic). Merlin is independent, part of Dutch Digital Design and Fossiel No Deal, and has been awarded many times.

Merlin always says; “A day without laughter is a day wasted” and we try to follow that advise. We have a keen eye for detail, motion and aesthetics. Merlin is a nerd, gaining in wisdom and growing by numbers. Merlin is a professional, serious and fun all at once. We create magic. Now more than ever. Merlin is award winning. Creating anything web.     Co-Founder at Merlin, a Code Boutique – We craft exceptional web experiences and digital campaigns for clients like Dior, Converse, Sprite, Heineken, BAYC, and Eurovision.

    What sets successful brands apart, is their ability to remain flexible and think modular, while being creative. Flexibility doesn’t mean compromising on quality—it’s about finding new ways to deliver digital experiences. One of the most effective ways to build this flexibility is by empowering internal teams. When teams are encouraged to take ownership of certain aspects of the brand’s digital presence, they can act as a base for external creative partners, allowing for more efficient use of time and budget. It also creates an environment where creativity can thrive, as those closest to the brand are often best equipped to understand its needs and nuances. At the same time, it’s important to explore solutions that can scale. Modular digital experiences—especially in the form of marketing websites—have proven to be valuable when maintaining flexibility. These platforms allow brands to adapt quickly to new demands while still providing a cohesive and engaging experience. Flexibility doesn’t mean cutting corners; it means being prepared to 180 when necessary while staying true to the core of what makes your brand special. Our philosophy at Merlin is that flexibility, creativity, and modularity are what should set us apart. Being able to rush in, lift the quality of a digital project, add immersive animations, minigames, or microsites in apps, or help set up a base that remains strong for years to come is invaluable. Last year, we created a highly flexible modular video generator tool for Converse together with WØRKS. The tool allows creatives to work within the company's motion guidelines and allows marketing to update content on a whim; all without costing anything to generate the video as they are rendered on-device within minutes. No more sharing latest_final_v1.23_but-seriously-final-v3 named AE files, no more software lock, and no more waiting for assets. Being able to create a tool that helps multiple departments, while staying flexible in a way where we can add ANY animation, ANY machine learning and AI library, or API connection to power content, is a cheat code for any brand. Similarly, last year we created an experience for Heineken they embedded into their own website structure. The flexibility this provided, by their internal team, allowed us to go all out on creativity. Ending up with a platform containing a machine-learning tool calculating the size of your face, an AI API cutting out your face, and a WebGL script generating a video that displayed you as a spooky ghost. Being able to serve people a campaign that generates a personalized page and a funny, branded video for you to share within 30 seconds is flexibility, creativity, and modularity at its core.     It's almost time for the new XR Creators Connect event! We have only 7 spots left for this Eindhoven edition and a couple more for the Co-Working. I am especially looking forward to the Co-working prior to the event to really have the time to nerd around with XR colleagues. I am curious if there will be people to share my passions for scanning with. Maybe I can learn new things or approaches from someone!     Toen we Bert Hagendoorn belden met een knipoog en ik vroeg waarom we nog niet waren uitgenodigd voor Dutch Digital Design, moest hij natuurlijk een beetje lachen. Een grapje, maar bij Merlin hadden we wel degelijk de ambitie om deel uit te maken van deze groep experts op het gebied van #digital #design in Nederland. Onze oorspring bij iconische bureaus zoals Monks (toen nog MediaMonks), DEPT® en Q42 – die allemaal prominent aanwezig zijn in de lijst van leden – onderstreepte onze droom alleen maar. Wat ons bij Merlin Studio uniek maakt, is onze focus op experience design, toegankelijkheid en motion. Door ons werk voor klanten als Dior, Kim Kardashian, en Coca-Cola zijn we getraind op de kleinste details en micro-interacties die het verschil maken. Bij ons mag geen enkele pixel op de verkeerde plek zitten. Waar veel bedrijven "pixel perfect" beschouwen als muggenzifterij, zien wij het juist als ons kwaliteitskeurmerk. We zijn ongelofelijk trots dat we al een tijdje onderdeel zijn van deze club en vandaag mogen we dan ook trots mededelen dat we de Partner in the Spotlight zijn.
