𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬: 𝟐𝟎𝟎 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐲𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 A company with a rich history dating back to 1865 experienced a lot of internal transportation between various locations. This led to the decision to merge the sites at a single location. This merger brought changes to the logistics process. A milkrun system was implemented to efficiently supply assembly cells with parts via clear kanban racks. Additionally, 200 new trolleys were designed, focusing on ease of loading and unloading products and protecting the items after coating. These optimisations made the logistics not only more efficient and ergonomic but also better aligned with the companies changing needs. Last Friday, we hosted our annual company party with partners. Employees had to handle products twice, which led to unnecessary errors and an inefficient process. By supplying an ergonomic picking trolley, which allows staff to pick directly into the shipping boxes, we have addressed these challenges. This eliminates the double handling of products and increases the efficiency of the order picking process.
