My Peony Society

In the beautiful South Africa, the peak season for our peony harvest is in full swing. We’re partnering with Zuluflora to bring an amazing product to market, and judging by this harvest, we can proudly say we’re making great progress. Step by step, moving from good to great! While we’re full of ambition for the future, we’re taking this moment to appreciate how far we’ve come. Partnerships like these show the power of collaboration in creating sustainable growth. Our journey to South Africa has brought incredible progress! As we speak we’ve planted 11 hectares, and the peonies are thriving under the expert care of the Zuluflora team. Every year, we learn something new—peonies are unique and sometimes unpredictable, with some varieties resisting the African climate, while others exceed expectations. To protect the peonies from sunburn, we’ve added shade nets, which have a bonus effect: taller stems! The first Corals have arrived, and we’re eagerly awaiting the rest of the varieties. With the finest assortment in the Southern Hemisphere, we’re committed to ongoing NPD to continue surprising our customers with new varieties.

The past few days have provided ideal conditions for planting peonies. Due to the wet seasons, many of the existing plants have struggled, making it crucial to continuously select and refresh plants. Here GPS-guided planting is used to ensure perfectly straight lines and neatly arranged rows, maximizing both efficiency and precision in the field. This emphasizes the importance of both technology and constant renewal in the planting process.

Lets get ready to rumble. The Italian and French production in tunnels has started and we’ve received the first few flowers this week already. We expect bigger volumes after the weekend. The peony season is officially starting and we couldn’t be more ready for them. #peonyseason #mypeonysociety
