🦗 Sharing sustainable #flavors in Zaragoza! 🍴 Last Wednesday, we had the pleasure of being invited as NGN to a #culinary #event in Zaragoza for the second year in a row! While a live cooking competition was being recorded Master D we shared our #insect-based #recipes with the attendees. It was exciting to see so many people trying something different. 🌍 Marian Peters and HollandDoor Cooperatie U.A. Lisanne Oskam welcomed an inspiring delegation from #Senegal last Monday, alongside Netherlands Food Partnership (NFP) Wim Goris and Circle Economy. The group, all professionals in the poultry sector, are on a mission to explore sustainable feed alternatives for their animals as part of #ThePoultryPromise. We discussed innovative solutions and introduced them to the world of insects 🐛 , highlighting how species like the black soldier fly can drive a circular economy in #poultry #farms. Insect farming, especially for feed, is a game-changer in the global south, boosting #food #security and supporting #environmental #health. 💡 We also had the pleasure of welcoming Camilo Vergara Múnera from Colombia, visiting us in the Netherlands 🇨🇴! Last week, NGN partnered with our Kenyan colleagues, Wilfried Schasfoort and Everlyne Songoi from Fair & Sustainable Consulting, for a one-week #Smart #Insect #Processing course. We covered cost-effective, energy-saving processing methods to enhance sustainability. A big thanks to Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) | Partner in Sustainable Development and the #Dutch #Embassy in #Kenya for their support! Special mentions to Wouter Simons, Siebe Berrens, Mitali Poovayya, Laura Martinussen, Jacques Wijnoogst and others for their valuable input! Following the training, members of the Netherlands Food Partnership Association will have the opportunity to visit Everlyne's farm in Eldoret, Kenya, to facilitate knowledge exchange and see what she has learned at the NGN facilities.
