📣 New Research Alert! 📣 ✨ Research led by Oncode Investigator Jacco van Rheenen at The Netherlands Cancer Institute in collaboration with Colinda Scheele at VIB-KU Leuven Center for Cancer Biology shows that the menstrual cycle phase may influence the effectiveness of chemotherapy in breast cancer. 💡This finding highlights the importance of further research into the menstrual cycle, the effects of drugs on women versus men, and female-specific research in general. De winnaar van de Dutch Applied AI Award 2024 is bekend! Wij feliciteren Jeroen de Ridder van het AI-initiatief 'Sturgeon' van harte als winnaar van de Dutch Applied AI Award 2024. Sturgeon, ontwikkeld vanuit UMC Utrecht en Oncode Institute, maakt het mogelijk om in verkorte tijd het type hersentumor te bepalen tijdens een operatie, met behulp van AI. “Dit jaar wint een AI-toepassing in de medische sector, in het bijzonder voor de snelle herkenning van hersentumoren, wat voor zowel patiënt als chirurg een enorme impact heeft. Jeroen was verrast dat hij had gewonnen. Maar Jeroen is een onderzoeker die begrijpt dat het in de praktijk brengen van onderzoek essentieel is voor innovatie. Dat ging hij in de loop van de avond steeds meer inzien, een uniek moment.” - Nanda Piersma, jurylid Dutch Applied AI Award 2024 Hulde voor de finalisten Menno Cadee en Elisabeth Huis in 't Veld, PhD, MBA, zij onderkennen de continue verbeteromgeving, en in welk stadium AI systemen rijp genoeg zijn om in de markt te zetten.
