Did you know that non-starch polysaccharide (NSP) fibers in plant material can negatively impact feed digestion in swine and poultry? 🐖🐔 This issue needs to be addressed when developing feed formulations in order to ensure optimal animal health & performance. The anti-nutritional Factors (ANF) of NSP fibers can be categorised into two types: 1️⃣ 𝗚𝗲𝗹 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁: Soluble NSP fibres increase gut digesta viscosity in the intestine due to their high water binding capacity. This slows down the migration and absorption of nutrients, lowers feed intake and reduces the effectiveness of the animal’s own digestive enzymes. 2️⃣ 𝗡𝘂𝘁𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁: Insoluble NSP fibers encapsulate plant nutrients which makes them unavailable for digestion and absorption in the small intestine. The undigested plant nutrients enter the large intestine, where they become a substrate for bacterial fermentation. This is a much less efficient way for the animal to utilise the plant nutrients. To effectively overcome the ANF of NSP fibers, they need to be degraded through the use of enzymes that cut the different types of chemical bonds present within NSP fibers. At Palital, we've developed multi-enzyme concepts with guaranteed high activities and stability: 𝗔𝘃𝗲𝗠𝗶𝘅® 𝗫𝗚 𝟭𝟬 and 𝗔𝘃𝗲𝗠𝗶𝘅® 𝟬𝟮 𝗖𝗦. Both of these EFSA approved NSP degrading enzyme concepts help overcome ANF in swine and poultry feed, ensuring optimal animal health and performance! Ready to optimize your feed formulations? Let's connect and explore how our solutions can benefit your livestock! #AnimalNutrition #FeedAdditives #LivestockPerformance

Butyric acid is a short-chain fatty acid naturally produced in the rumen of ruminants and the hindgut of monogastrics by bacteria breaking down dietary fiber. Butyric acid itself is a volatile and corrosive liquid with a very unpleasant smell. Therefore, salts of butyric acid are commonly used to take advantage of its benefits. Calcium and sodium butyrate are well known for enhancing animal health and performance. Butyrate plays a crucial role in promoting intestinal health and overall well-being in animals. In particular, butyrate is an important ingredient in diets for young animals to support gut development in the early life stage! ✔️ 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗴𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵: Butyrate helps maintain the integrity of the intestinal barrier by stimulating mucus production and enhancing tight-junction quality.  ✔️ 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Butyrate is a known anti-inflammatory agent and possesses many immune system-related properties.  ✔️ 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: By increasing villi height, the absorption surface in the small intestine becomes larger, which improves nutrient absorption.  ✔️ 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺: It reduces the risk of inflammation by regulating the expression of specific genes. To achieve the optimal benefits and results of butyrate supplementation, Palital offers a complete range of butyrates https://lnkd.in/eqAMv_fR. Want to know which butyrate fits your feeding strategy? Lauric acid is a well-known Medium-Chain-Fatty-Acid and is commonly used in animal feed formulations. Lauric acid, known for its proven activity against gram-positive pathogenic bacteria, provides powerful antimicrobial properties and improving animal gut health.  𝗔𝘃𝗲𝗠𝗶𝘅® 𝗠𝗖𝟭𝟮 is a combination of highly concentrated and coated lauric acid along with pure monolaurin, which is a monoglyceride of lauric acid. The active components of 𝗔𝘃𝗲𝗠𝗶𝘅® 𝗠𝗖𝟭𝟮 release slowly to enable them to reach the target areas in the gut. This synergistic action supports animal health and performance by reducing the bacterial load of Gram-positive pathogens, such as Streptococcus spp. and Staphylococcus spp. It optimizes uniformity and health of animals, whilst supporting optimal performance. This also results in savings due to decreased losses and costs associated with mortality and health management.   By combining 𝗔𝘃𝗲𝗠𝗶𝘅® 𝗠𝗖𝟭𝟮 with Palital’s other products and concepts, a complete solution can be created in animal feed formulations to improve animal health and performance.   Want to know more about Palital’s portfolio?
