📊 Neuromuscular training improved functional capacity by 155 meters post-intervention and 214 meters at 6-month follow-up. 🔍 These significant improvements show the potential of neuromuscular training in enhancing the recovery of ACS patients. ✅ Find out how neuromuscular training is shaping the future of ACS rehabilitation in our "Research Summaries" section! 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eVgQPgJH #ACS #cardiacrehab #neuromusculartraining #functionalcapacity #rehabilitation #physiotherapy #hearthealth #physiotutors

In this video I will show you how to conduct the syndesmosis squeeze test in order to determine a syndesmosis sprain. The syndesmosis is the interosseous membrane that connects the tibia with the fibula and it can get injured with inversion trauma or extra rotational dorsiflexion trauma. To perform the test have your patient in supine lying position and squeeze the proximal fibula and tibia together. Then apply the same compression at more distal places down to the malleolus. According to Nussbaum et al in the length of tenderness above the lateral malleoli indicates severity so the more proximal pain is felt the more severe the injury. Pain during these compressions may indicate syndesmosis rupture given that a fracture, contusion or compartment syndrome have been ruled out before. The Berg Balance Scale is a 56 point scale that aims to quantify balance It was created in 1989 by health professionals and patient interviews. The scale consists of 14 items that should be scored on a zero to 4 scale. Downs et al investigated the reliability of this scale across different populations The intra-rater reliability was 0 and the inter-rater reliability was 0 as well. It is unclear whether or not the BBS predicts falls. How is this test performed. As I said before there are 14 items to assess. Examples are sitting to standing a pivot transfer between chairs standing on support with feet together picking up objects turning three hundred and sixty degrees etc. The test form is pretty straightforward There are clear instructions with clear criteria to score your patient. In this I'm going to demonstrate the extension stress test for osteoarthritis To the test the patient is in sitting position across the examiner patient's hand is. on the examination table with the elbow flexed to 90 degrees and the forearm in neutral rotation. the examiner's ipsilateral thumb is along the radial aspect of the distal thumb metacarpal 5 to ten millimeters proximal to the thumb. metacarpophalangeal joint Then the examiner firmly extends the patient's thumb until the thumb metacarpal comes to lie in a plane parallel to the palm or until a firm end field is reached. The test is considered positive if the patient's pain at the TMC joint is reproduced. Our Clinical Patterns Database: Get a quick overview of common pathologies at a glance! The Tinetti test was first described in 1986 by Mary Tinetti She was under the impression that a oriented evaluation could add to the mobility assessment of an older individual To perform this test minimal equipment is needed You need a hard armless chair a stopwatch and 4 meters or 15 feet of a walkway and about ten to 15 minutes of your time Part one covers balance with a total of 16 points You the clinician will assess different items such as sitting balance attempts to rise standing balance turning etc Every item is given 0 one or 2 points. The second part covers gait with a total of 12 points This included step symmetry path trunk sway etc. Scoring less than 25 points out of 28 increased the post-test probability of a fall to 42 percent.
