Over ons

At QuTech, we work on a radically new technology with world-changing potential. Our mission: to develop scalable prototypes of a quantum computer and an inherently safe quantum internet, based on the fundamental laws of quantum mechanics. Established by TU Delft and the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research TNO, the focus at QuTech currently covers nearly all facets of quantum computing, including theoretical physics, new materials, quantum coding, and the actual development of (components of) a quantum computer.

🎉 We're proud to announce that the Delft QAIMS lab has won the Golden App track of the Airbus & BMW Group Quantum Computing Challenge! ✈️ QAIMS is funded by the TU Delft | Aerospace Engineering faculty. They are headed by Boyang Chen and our very own Sebastian Feld was one of the members of the team challenge. 🏆 The winners were presented at Q2B Silicon Valley. The Golden App challenge invited contenders to push the boundaries of quantum technolgy for mobility. 💡 Find out more about QAIMS - Quantum-enhanced Artificial Intelligence for sustainable Materials and Structural design in aerospace 👇 tudelft.nl/lr/qaims

  • 🚨 NEWS: Connecting qubit islands with quantum bridges. 💡 Researchers at QuTech have managed to, for the first time, perform coherent logic operations between spin qubits 250 micrometers apart on the same chip. Such ‘enormous’ distances create new opportunities for operations between qubits, as they normally only sustain over 100 nm. These results hold promise for scalable networks of spin qubit islands on a chip. The researchers published their results in Nature Physics. Read more 👇 https://lnkd.in/es3mRcwJ

  • ✍️ In their eleventh annual Research Fronts™ report, Clarivate™ and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, highlight the hot and emerging fields in science for 2024. In the report they identify the Netherlands as the leading country in semiconductor quantum computing: Delft University of Technology stands out for contributing the highest number of core papers, followed by the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO). 💡Semiconductor quantum computing is one of the important approaches to scalable technologies that is compatible with the process of semiconductor technology. The concentration of talent, the investments being made and the amount of high-level research conducted here allow Delft to lead the way in this field and create economic impact. Find the Academy's full report on the 125 research fronts they've identified here 👇 edu.nl/v97va (PDF)

  • 🇺🇸 We're looking forward to the doors of the Santa Clara Convention Center opening for Q2B Silicon Valley next week! 💡 It again promises to be a great event, offering opportunities to connect with many fascinating people and engage in discussions on a diverse range of topics including value creation, use cases, security, policy, industry insights, national programs, sustainability, and workforce development. 🇳🇱 The Dutch quantum community has always made sure we're well represented at the convention, and Quantum Delta NL is proud to be the Diamond sponsor for this year's edition as well. If you're in Santa Clara, be sure to visit the QDNL booth to chat with one of the 15 representatives from QuTech, Orange Quantum Systems, Delft Circuits, Qblox, TNO, QAL, Q*Bird, and, of course, Quantum Delta NL. 🥂 Or join us at the by now traditional, and always full, Quantum Community Drinks on Wednesday evening! Learn more about the convention here 👇 edu.nl/xmfcj #Q2B | Quantum Delta NL | Orange Quantum Systems | Delft Circuits | Qblox | TNO | Q*BIRD | Quantum Application Lab

  • 💎 NV Center qubits, based on nitrogen atoms within a diamond lattice, are a QuTech specialty.   🔎 In Delft, QuTech and Fujitsu are working together to realise a complete blueprint for a scalable quantum computer based on these spin qubits in diamond, while creating optical interconnects between small qubit modules.   Watch the video to learn more👇
