At the Dutch Culture Cafe we will talk about Dutch culture and music, while getting involved in fun activities and eating lekker Dutch food. We believe that by coming together, sharing our cultures, and embracing our differences, we can build a stronger, more connected community. Everyone is invited! Another great Info Session lead by Manon Reubsaet! At RPM, we are dedicated to enhancing the knowledge and skills of our volunteers in asylum-related matters. Our recent visit to AZC Maastricht was incredibly enlightening, providing valuable insights into the admirable efforts of COA in creating welcoming environments for asylum seekers and refugees. Dance has been documented to be an effective tool for improving physical, mental, and emotional health among young children. Because of this, our passionate team of volunteers and staff conduct dance classes for the youngsters who are temporarily residing at the Maastricht AZC! What a delight it was to experience the richness of Syrian culture at our recent Culture Cafe! 🌟 Last Saturday, our RPM community gathered once again for one of our monthly gatherings, this time centered around the captivating country of Syria. From the moment we stepped into the cafe, we were transported into a world of warmth, laughter, and unforgettable connections. The day began with an insightful presentation on Syria and its vibrant history—a moment of learning and reflection that truly brought us together. But the highlight of the day? Without a doubt, it was the incredible Syrian cuisine that graced our tables. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, offering us a taste of the flavors and traditions that make Syrian culture so unique and beloved. As the day unfolded, we came together to immerse ourselves in Syrian dance—a joyous celebration of community and heritage. The energy in the room was infectious, with laughter and applause filling the air as we embraced the beauty of Syrian traditions. Culture Cafes truly are the heart and soul of our RPM community, and Saturday's event was no exception. We're thrilled to unveil a new and promising project that has been brewing behind the scenes: ✨✨✨  RPM Academy! ✨✨✨ Our goal is to arm our volunteers with a deep understanding of the Dutch asylum system, fostering an inclusive society where everyone finds a place to call home. Just last Thursday, we kicked off our first activity with an information session at AZC Francois de Veijestraat, led by Manon Reubsaet. This session delved into the role of AZC's in the Dutch asylum system, the current challenges that the system is facing and the importance of the local Participation desk (#MEEDOEN balie) and RPM for the local Refugee community. We are grateful to all who contributed to the success of this event, embodying our shared mission of empowerment and understanding.
