Last Friday we had a visit from our ESA technical officer Timon Hummel for a successful final review of our final delivery of the CRISP-3 project in EarthCARE! With the EarthCARE satellite launched last May and gone through a very successful commissioning phase, it is exciting to see how our auxiliary processors serve a crucial role in creating synergistic products for EarthCARE. Congratulations to the amazing team: Isabel van den Eelaart, Isabel Montoya Arroyave, Davide Decataldo, Nikhil Ulahannan, Michael Bitney, Carolina Francioni Barrack and so many others who have contributed to this successful project! A special thank you to the European Space Agency - ESA for the great collaboration through the years and thank you to the Norwegian Space Agency for the continued support! Learn more about this fascinating mission and how it will provide valuable new insights into our earth's climate and the complex interactions between clouds, aerosols and radiation on the ESA website here: https://lnkd.in/dD38NdcH We at S[&]T Norway are all very proud to be part of this and have been given the opportunity to contribute to this interesting mission!

  • 🌌 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗨𝗻𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 🌌 In military operations, satellite navigation like GPS serves as a vital source of information, delivering precise 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗣𝗡𝗧) data essential for unmanned systems operating in complex environments. 𝗜𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘃𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲 (𝗨𝗚𝗩) tasked with reaching a specific location behind enemy lines to deliver supplies. GPS enables it to follow an exact route, avoid obstacles, and reach its destination. However, GPS is susceptible to interference like 𝗷𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗴, which are common tactics in contested environments to disrupt navigation. To counter this, unmanned systems need 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. By identifying interference early and determining whether it’s accidental or a deliberate attack, these systems can quickly shift to alternative navigation methods like 𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗻𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 (𝗜𝗡𝗦) or 𝗟𝗶𝗗𝗔𝗥-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 to maintain mission continuity. This capability is essential for ensuring operational effectiveness in GPS-denied environments, where resilient PNT solutions enable unmanned systems to carry out critical missions safely and accurately despite adversarial disruptions. 🚀 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗘𝗗𝗦 (𝗛𝟮.𝟯) to learn about using 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗨𝗻𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀. #UnmannedSystems #PNT #INS #LiDARMapping
