🌟 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗿! 🌟 Fred Van Beers had the privilege of accepting the Port Man of the Year Award from Frank de Kruijf, Chairman of the Port Man/Woman of the Year Foundation. Joining the ranks of past Port men and women is a remarkable achievement, but Fred believes this award isn’t just about him. He proposes it to be renamed to Port Team of the Year. Why? Because the recent expansion at Sif wouldn't have been possible without teamwork. 💪 Fred began his speech by thanking our incredible Sif team. Their dedication and tireless efforts turned a vision into reality. Externally, partnerships were just as vital. From the Port of Rotterdam to other collaborators, this success story was built together. In his speech, Fred encouraged everyone to stick to what you believe in and always see the possibilities. But he also stressed the importance of staying grounded and rely on facts. Collaboration, courage, action. For one day, we paused operations to focus on ensuring a safe working environment for everyone, together with our team, clients, and subcontractors. During our Safety Day, we reinforced the 9 Life-Saving Rules to help everyone understand how to protect themselves and those around them. We also embraced the mantra "See it, Say it, Solve it" — encouraging open dialogue, respect, and teamwork to proactively address and solve safety concerns. 🤝 It was truly inspiring to see the commitment and collaboration of all participants. 🔧 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗮𝘀𝘃𝗹𝗮𝗸𝘁𝗲 𝟮 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 🏭🌊 We are proud to announce the successful manufacturing of the first monopile for Equinor’s Empire Wind 1 project at our newly expanded facilities at Maasvlakte 2, Rotterdam! 🎉 The first of 54 monopiles was completed on 28 November 2024. Production of the monopiles and transition pieces for Empire Wind 1 is on track for Q1 2025, with shipment to the USA for offshore installation near New York. With our facilities ramping up, we’re preparing to manufacture approximately 200 monopiles per year, solidifying our role in advancing the global energy transition. Almost nothing is better than energizing conversations!💡 Last week, Lauren Clark, representing Offshore Wind Foundations Alliance (OWFA) and I had the chance to meet Barry Andrews MEP in the European Parliament. We discussed the literal foundations of European legislation that are needed for achieving member states’ offshore wind targets. 💨🌊 To reach these targets with the European industry, we need resilience for every critical component.
