New smartwatch app for CPR evaluation & research! There is a lot of scientific CPR research, but at the same time a lack of CPR data during a rescue. Smartwatches are able to collect chest compression depth and rate during a cardiac arrest. To make this happen, SimCPR develops a new smartwatch app. During the rescue itself, only a timer is displayed and feedback is shown after the event. This avoids the complicated certification process of Software as a Medical Device (SaMD). After stopping the timer, depth and rate scores are displayed for rescuers to evaluate their most important CPR-skills. Recorded data can easily be shared for further evaluation and scientific research. This improves CPR and cardiac arrest survival.
