Did you know about the VS Code companion extension for #snutils? It’s called 𝘀𝗻-𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝘀𝘆𝗻𝗰! With 𝘀𝗻-𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝘀𝘆𝗻𝗰, you can edit all your script fields directly in VS Code (or any VS Code-based IDE, like Cursor) with a single click. Be sure to enable the setting in SN Utils: ☑︎ Enable sn-scriptsync buttons (VS Code) Check out this quick video to learn more: https://lnkd.in/eXGpmqri sn-scriptsync Extension: https://lnkd.in/em4aqEuU Already using it? ✨ 𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲-𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺! ✨ This week’s SN Utils tip is another easy-to-miss micro timesaver: 👉 𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲-𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗸 the gray form header to reload the form instantly. Another form header trick: 👉 Hold 𝗖𝘁𝗿𝗹 (or 𝗖𝗺𝗱 on Mac) and click the form header to generate a link that opens the 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 of the current record in a new tab. Prefer slash commands? Use /𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 to achieve the same!

For early 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼 adopters, the /𝘀𝗻𝘀 command is now available! Here’s what's new: 🔹 /𝘀𝗻𝘀 — Opens a new ServiceNow studio browser tab 🔹 /𝗼𝗶𝘀 — Opens any record as a tab in 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼. (Note: Make sure you already have an SNS tab open for this to work.) 🔹 Inline results in SNS — When in ServiceNow Studio, inline slash commands now default to open a new SNS Studio tab for metadata records. Hold a modifier key to open in a browser tab instead. Bonus, not specificly related to ServiceNow Studio 🔹 Improved metadata dynamic commands — Dynamic slash commands like /sys_dictionary searching metadata tables now display 𝘀𝘆𝘀_𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲 in the results, giving you quicker and clearer insights. Try it out, share your feedback! #snutils #philgoesdeep Philip Swann

Did you know your 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 can be a 𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱? Well, kind of at least! 😉 🔹 Enter a record number directly as a slash command and hit enter. → This usually opens that record with a direct match search! 🔹 Select the number (or anything you want to search) with your cursor. → Press \ after opening slash commands, it fills in the selection, no need to copy-paste! What lesser-known #snutils slash command features do you use? Share them below!

𝗔𝗱𝗱 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝘁! Did you ever notice the 📥 icon to the right of the customize list cog icon in classic UI lists? Added via #snutils, a single click on this icon adds the fields you need directly to your list! As a 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿 or 𝗮𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻, you usually want fields like 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 / 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 and 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗽𝗲 to be visible in your (customized) list. Many OOB lists don’t show these, and adding them manually can mean lots of clicking and scrolling. ✨ 𝗙𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗮𝘂𝗹𝘁: sys_updated_on, sys_updated_by, sys_scope, sys_created_on 🔧 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲: Adjust fields to be added in the settings tab of the popup ⬆️ 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁-𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗸: Adds sys_id as the first column to the list ⚙️ 𝗖𝘁𝗿𝗹-𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗸: Keeps the modal open for further adjustments These tips also appear when you hover over the icon. Check the GIF for a demo and leave your feedback in a comment!

𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗮 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝘆 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹𝘀! ⚡ When working with cases or metadata, it’s often helpful to quickly find similar records. With #snutils, you can CTRL-Click a field label to create a link that opens a filtered list instantly. • CTRL-Click (or CMD-Click on Mac) the field label • The filter appears as an info message with an encoded query link. • A subsequent label click removes that part from the filter. • Multiple conditions are AND logic • The link opens in a new tab with the filter pinned. • Works in classic UI (Should Workspace support be added? 🤔) 👇 Are you using this feature? Have a use case where it’s been helpful? Let us know in the comments! 💬

𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗹𝘆 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 /𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃 With /𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃, you can easily apply the 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆_𝗮𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻 role for faster and more efficient access. To apply a different role, simply specify it as an argument, for example: /𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮_𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗰𝘆_𝗮𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻. In 𝗫𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝘂, you can remove elevated roles just as quickly by using /𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃 - (include the dash symbol). Prior to 𝗫𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝘂, the role would be toggled by the /𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃 command itself. Reminder: #SNUtils converts list field items into clickable hyperlinks! Here’s how it works: 🔗 Click on a hyperlink to open the record in a new tab. ❌ Click the red ‘x’ to remove the item (just remember to save the record after). ⚙️ You can disable this feature with the setting: “Don’t add UI elements to browser”. 📧 Non-reference entries (like email addresses) won’t be converted. This is one of those features that many users mistake for out-of-the-box behavior! Did you know? What’s your take on it? 💬
