Exciting progress at Schloss Eggenberg, part of Universalmuseum Joanneum! This week, we held an interim review of all the new setups and media for our upcoming exhibition. Lotte van der Molen and Barend Verheijen from Studio Louter were on-site alongside Shosho, OPERA Amsterdam, the fit-out team and of course our client to fine-tune every detail. It's all coming together and we can’t wait to see the reactions of visitors when the exhibition opens at the end of April! De bouwovereenkomst voor de restauratie en renovatie van het Westfries Museum is ondertekend! Gefeliciteerd Westfries Museum Koninklijke Woudenberg | a JAJO company / Lomans TPAHG architecten met de start van dit prachtige project. Wij kunnen niet wachten om samen met OPERA Amsterdam ons concept en ontwerp voor de herinrichting te laten zien.
Op vrijdag 10 januari is de bouwovereenkomst voor de restauratie en renovatie van het Westfries Museum in Hoorn getekend. We zijn er trots op om samen te werken met TPAHG architecten, Koninklijke Woudenberg | a JAJO company en Lomans aan de verbouwing en vernieuwing . 🌍 We are thrilled to share that Studio Louter will play a key role in an exciting new international project: Colonial Legacies of Universities: Materialities and New Collaborations (COLUMN). It’s an honour to collaborate with a diverse team spanning four continents and eight countries, including partners from the University of Pretoria Anton de Kom Universiteit van Suriname Aarhus University University of Bologna (Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna) Charles University (Univerzita Karlova) Universität Graz Université de Genève and the Universiteit Utrecht. Our contribution focuses on designing and developing new ways to present academic heritage in museums and public spaces. Together, we will explore how a critical heritage approach can inspire fresh collaborations with global partners and foster innovative research practices. We are particularly grateful for the leadership of Universiteit Utrecht and the guidance of Gertjan Plets.
💥 💥 EU Horizon for researching and curating colonial university heritage💥 💥 Christmas came early this year. We are exited to share that we have received a grant of 4,4 million euros to study the colonial history and heritage of universities. From April 2025, Utrecht University will lead a large team from across the globe, mapping historical networks of colonial knowledge production, reflecting on current heritage practices, and designing and developing new museum interventions. The new international project "Colonial Legacies of Universities: Materialities and New Collaborations" (COLUMN) consists of researchers and heritage professionals from University of Pretoria , Anton de Kom Universiteit van Suriname , Aarhus University , University of Bologna (Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna) , Charles University (Univerzita Karlova) , University of Graz , University of Geneva and Studio Louter. Working across four continents and eight countries, the project studies the colonial histories of botanical gardens, ethnographic collections, university campuses and intangible heritage. We ask how a critical heritage approach to academic heritage can serve to develop new collaborations with global partners and inspire new research practices. Ever grateful to my two other main applicants and wonderful UU colleagues: Mette Bruinsma and Richard Calis. Maak je eigen Memling-meesterwerk 🎨 Vanavond vieren wij de opening van de ‘Closer to Memling Experience’ van Musea Brugge. Op de middeleeuwse zolder van het Sint Janshospitaal brengen we topmeester Hans Memling dichterbij dan ooit. Samen met Musea Brugge en partners, Ocular, Shosho, Wondering en Chris Pype, licht maakten we een totaalbeleving in beeld, decor, licht en geluid. Maar de experience wordt vooral gemaakt door de bezoekers zelf. De voornaamste doelgroep? Kinderen vanaf 7 jaar. In nauwe samenwerking door middel van focusgroepen, paper prototyping en gebruikerstests ontwikkelden we een aansprekende installatie voor hen. Op een 9 meter lange interactieve tafel duik je in een eindeloze Memling-wereld en maak je de mooiste creaties. Die worden vervolgens onderdeel van de eindeloze Memlingervaring op het waanzinnige scherm van bijna 5 bij 5 meter. Zo dichtbij was je nog nooit! Ga jij binnenkort je eigen Memling maken? 🖌️

We zijn al enige tijd aan de slag met de storytelling voor het nieuwe museum aan de A in Groningen. Een museum voor en door Groningers en in samenwerking met meerdere erfgoedinstellingen in de provincie. Binnenkort is het eerste resultaat te zien!
POP-UP TENTOONSTELLING MUSEUM AAN DE A IN GRONINGER MUSEUM IN 2025 Museum aan de A werkt samen met de vaste partners het Groninger Museum, de Groninger Archieven en Noorderpoort aan een pop-up tentoonstelling in het Groninger Museum. De tentoonstelling opent in het najaar van 2025 met historische en archeologische topstukken en persoonlijke verhalen van Groningers. Omdat Museum aan de A steeds een link met de actualiteit wil leggen, zie je straks ook visuals en projecties van actuele en historische Groninger data. De pop-up is een voorproefje van de herinrichting van de vaste presentatie van het museum. In de pop-up wordt nadrukkelijk naar de mening van bezoekers gevraagd. In de pop-up zie je bijvoorbeeld de uit Warffum afkomstige oudste reliekschrijn van Nederland uit de 12e eeuw en het schilderij van de machtige Beetke van Rasquert. Maar we gaan ook nieuwe geschiedenisverhalen vertellen, van heel andere mensen dan alleen dat deel van de samenleving dat de topstukken heeft voortgebracht. Museum aan de A aan de Brugstraat in Groningen is in afwachting van een grote verbouwing. De middeleeuwse panden worden verduurzaamd en beter toegankelijk gemaakt.
