The “ARTS: Language of Resilience” training course has started! A group of youth workers from 11 partner NGO’s (10 different countries) came together to explore expressive arts and get acquainted with trauma-informed practices. 🤔 Curious to see what we did the first two days? 🌱 Firstly, we started by setting the frame of this training course in such a way that supports it’s purpose. Quality of presence, State-management and Movement are just some of the principles that we follow as a group! 🔍 Looking at the project as a whole, what does it mean to incorporate trauma-informed practices in youth work? What are the tools that we use - and from those, which are the ones that actually work for us and our target groups? Exploring through: 🎨 painting 🖊 drawing & bilateral drawing 🌲 nature walks 🧘♂️ meditation & breathing 📖 poetry 🕺 movement… …we experience some of the elements that might be useful for us in the given moment, when faced with a sensitive situation in our work - either for us or the person we work with. 🌐 Creating support systems is one of the principles of our project. The participants created their reflection groups in which they share learnings and practices, as well situations that they might find challenging in their work. ✨ The first evening concluded with an expressive arts performance, and from the second evening, the participants already took over the stage, playing with improv theatre elements. Much fun! 💡 Stay tuned to find out more! Meanwhile, no matter where you’re from, we’d like to let you know that in parallel we do some cool stuff, therefore you can check them out here if you’d like to join us: https://lnkd.in/dqudiKFQ
