Today, I attended the TÜSİAD High Advisory Council Meeting in Ankara. The session titled “Global Economic Transformation in an Age of Uncertainty and Türkiye” explored Türkiye’s path toward democracy and economic change, focusing on the link between political and economic stability. The challenges preventing Türkiye from becoming a high-income nation, their contribution to the middle-income trap, and the effects of global protectionism and geopolitical uncertainties are discussed. FATIH KEMAL EBICLIOGLU, TÜSİAD Board Member and President of the Industry Policies and Investment Environment Round Table, moderated the session. Contributions from Prof. Dr. Ali Yaycioglu of Stanford University and Prof. Dr. Ufuk Akcigit of the University of Chicago provided valuable insights on strategies for sustainable growth. Under the leadership of TÜSİAD Chairman Orhan Turan and High Advisory Council President Ömer Aras, the event offered meaningful perspectives on Turkey’s future.
