🗣️ Nothing About Us Without Us! Today, on International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPWD), I'm excited to collaborate with Soho House & Co Amsterdam for a screening of Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution. This powerful Oscar-nominated Netflix documentary centers and amplifies disabled voices. Crimp Camp tells the story of Camp Jened, a groundbreaking summer camp for people with disabilities. This camp wasn’t just a place to have fun—it became the foundation for a movement that transformed society. The film highlights the power of inclusion, activism, and systemic change, perfectly capturing the spirit of this day. The theme of IDPWD 2024, "Amplify the Leadership of Persons with Disabilities for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future," reminds us of the critical importance of participation, representation, and inclusion. Disabled people must have the power to shape the conditions of their lives. If there's one thing we can all do today to become better allies to one another, it's to listen and learn without inserting our own opinion or voice: 💡 Take time to educate yourself about the lived experiences of disabled individuals. 💡Watch Crip Camp or explore other resources that offer actionable insights into our challenges and needs. 💡 Advocate for accessibility and inclusion in your spaces—small actions can create lasting change. 👀 Now tell me! Which quote resonated with you the most, and why? #IDPWD2024 #DisabilityJustice # #CripCamp #Intersectionality #BeBrave #Neurodiversity #DEI #Disability

Mental Health through Neurodiversity with Axelle Ahanhanzo hosted by Women in Tech Europe It was with great pleasure that Elena Sannier-Vnukova , Noura Zid El Aieb and myself have hosted the last conference of the year, on this topics that are particularly interesting and concerns us all. What Axelle shared resonated deeply with me, and I wanted to share some key takeaways that I believe are crucial for creating a more inclusive and supportive tech environment: 1️⃣Mental health is intersectional: Axelle brilliantly highlighted how mental health isn't isolated but is deeply intertwined with our cultural background, gender, and socioeconomic status. These factors can act as additional triggers, impacting our mental well-being in complex ways. 2️⃣Neurodivergent individuals face heightened risks: This point emphasized the increased vulnerability of neurodivergent people to mental health challenges, underscoring the need for greater understanding and support. 2️⃣Neurodiversity is more common than we think: The statistic that 1 in 5 people are neurodivergent, yet often overlooked, was a stark reminder of the lack of representation and the prevalence of harmful stereotypes. 3️⃣Neuroinclusivity benefits everyone: fostering neuroinclusivity in the workplace is not just the right thing to do, but also a smart business decision, leading to increased performance and innovation. 4️⃣Allyship is key: We all have a role to play in supporting our neurodivergent colleagues. By becoming allies, we can create a more welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. 5️⃣The mosaic of self: My favorite takeaway was the powerful image of each individual not as a monolith, but as a beautiful mosaic. We are made up of diverse pieces that we discover and reshape over time, embracing the complexity and uniqueness of who we are. Thank you to Axelle Ahanhanzo and to all the participants for this enlightening discussion. Let's continue the conversation and work towards building a more inclusive and supportive tech community for everyone. #WomenInTech #MentalHealth #Neurodiversity #Inclusion #Allyship #WomenInTechEurope
