👏 The long-running Netherlands Winter School on Narrative, organized by the University of Groningen, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and StoryLAB is officially back in Groningen in January 2025! Take a look at the promotional video we made with coordinators Dr Sjoerd-Jeroen Moenandar and Steven Willemsen, PhD. They tell us a bit more about the topic of this edition which is called Narrative and the Mind. During the one-week course, lectures and workshops will examine how cognition is informed by narrativity, and how narratives are shaped by our cognitive engagement. The winter school will welcome leading narrative scholars that research narrative from different disciplinary perspective to speak during the week-long programme. The long-running summer school organized by the Rudolf Agricola School and the Waddenacademie and led by coordinator Wander Jager was, yet again, a great success! 👏 We visited the participants on the final day of the summer school when they came to #Schiermonnikoog. The participants had a walking tour of the island and visited a local vegetable farm. At the end of the day, we sailed back with them on the wonderful #WaddenSea and even were able to see some seals! 😍 What a unique and wonderful experience! We tagged along for an exciting excursion with the "Energy Challenge: an interdisciplinary approach" summer school participants to the RWE Eemshaven power plant. The participants got to learn about this impressive coal and biomass power plant, how it works and about their long-term, sustainability-driven goals to become a biomass power plant in the future. What an exciting start to the week! 👏 The participants were also introduced to the challenge they will be working on in groups and will have to answer for by the end of the week, having heard from experts from different disciplines on their perspectives on the challenge throughout the week.
