Findings from our A.D.O.P.T. study (NCT05878483) show that: 🔹 98% of patients indicated acceptance of the new, automated method of blood drawing. 🔹 83% found the procedure to be less painful or equally comfortable compared to traditional manual blood draws. These results highlight the potential of our autonomous blood drawing device to improve patient comfort and streamline clinical care. As we move forward with implementation, we are excited to gather more valuable feedback from patients, to continue evolving our technology and enhancing patient experience. Following last week’s exciting announcement about Dave Hickey, we’re thrilled to share another important update—Sjaak Deckers has also joined Vitestro’s Board of Directors as an independent board member! Sjaak brings extensive leadership experience in MedTech, with a proven track record of driving innovation and scaling companies. As the former CEO of Sapiens, he led the company through its successful acquisition by Medtronic, and as co-founder and CEO of GTX Medical (now ONWARD Medical), he led the development of their Arc-Im product and the acquisition of NeuroRecovery Inc. He currently serves as a strategic advisor at Microsure, which raised €38 million for its microsurgical robot while he was CEO, and as chairman of the supervisory boards at Triplemed and Haermonics. Sjaak’s expertise in developing and scaling advanced medical robotics solutions will help us accelerate the next phase of our journey—transforming blood collection into a more efficient, precise, and patient-friendly experience. I'm thrilled to announce an exciting new chapter in my professional journey: I'm 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗩𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗦! After working closely with the Vitestro team as an investor and board member, I've made the decision to step away from my current role at Sonder Capital to fully immerse myself in the operating world. In my new position, I will be building the US organization, driving early commercial activities, and forging strategic partnerships. Vitestro is well on the way to transforming healthcare delivery with the most common invasive procedure in healthcare – blood draws. 🩸 💉 I'm grateful to have been an integral team member in building Sonder and for the relationships I've built there. I'm also pleased to share that I will remain involved as an Operating Partner, continuing to support their efforts in identifying and connecting with transformational medtech companies. While stepping away from the venture side is a significant move personally, the opportunity to be a part of the mission at Vitestro at such a pivotal time is exhilarating. We’re all aware of the shortages in healthcare personnel and phlebotomy is no exception.  𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁:  • More than 2.5 million (!) blood samples are collected every day.  • An estimated 70% of clinical decisions and diagnoses are based on blood draws.  • Although ubiquitous and critically important, the pre-analytical stage is responsible for 60-70% of errors. We are 𝗿𝗲-𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘄𝘀 and aim to address the key pain points of healthcare institutions – staffing challenges, inconsistent patient experiences, and sample integrity issues in the pre-analytical setting.
