Yesterday I had the honour to welcome a large journalist group from Cyprus where I had the opportunity to share our results from the WATER-MINING H2020 project. It came at a very nice timing, as we are currently at the final review of the project and we are concluding our hard work after 4.5 years working on #CircularWaterEconomy & #Sustainability. Four Cyprus Journals were present, together with the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation ΡΙΚ_CyBC The full-scale implementation study for Cyprus is now concluded and will still be released, stay tuned! A case study at the La Llagosta Wastewater Treatment Plant in Catalonia, Spain, showcased a system that recovers nearly 100% reusable water, cuts energy use by 25%, and recovers biogas, phosphates, and nitrogen. The ‪REVOLVE visited the WWTP to catch up with colleagues from Sorigué to catch up with some of the results and outcomes emerging from the WATER-MINING Project's Case Study 5. And our CIRSEAU project has officially been launched with our Kick-off meeting yesterday in Brussels! I am so excited that after 4.5 years of intensive interaction with all the sister projects of WATER-MINING H2020, we have this project together! We had the pleasure to present the work that we will lead from TU Delft | Technology, Policy and Management, together with Abubakar Bilyaminu, including the development of a new Master course on Circular Water Economy, a Conference on Water-Smart Economy & Society, an Acceleration program for start-ups and much more. Today I had the pleasure and honor to be invited by the UN Environment Programme and the Cyprus Ministry of Rural Development, Natural Resources and the Environment at the Regional Meeting for the “Implementation of Sustainable Desalination and Application of State of Art Technologies” I gave a keynote speech on “Circular Desalination: Recovery of water, high value minerals and chemicals from seawater, powered by waste heat and renewables. WATER-MINING H2020 partners from EURECAT recently organized a visit for a Korean delegation to the #water treatment pilot plant, part of Case Study 5. The visit, held on October 14, was a great success, providing valuable opportunities to exchange knowledge about the plant's innovations and explore potential collaboration.
