That's it, folks. 🥃 All orders have been fulfilled, final whiskies recommended, and our servers have been turned off. Today marks the end of the WhiskyWhy journey. While it feels bittersweet, we stand completely behind this decision. As I mentioned in my last post, startups don’t fail because they run out of money; they fail when the founders lose the energy to pivot and persevere. It has been nothing short of an extraordinary journey that has taught me more than I could possibly list here, allowed me to meet exceptional people, and taken me to places unimaginable. Looking back over these last five years, I am extremely proud of what we have achieved as a team. From launching the first version of the AI recommendation algorithm to having recommended over 100.000 bottles of whisky to more than 4.000 registered users from over 50 countries. To everyone who has worked with, partnered with, or supported us at WhiskyWhy: thank you for being part of our journey. A special shoutout to Martijn Schouten and Dennis Stam for making this such a memorable and inspiring experience! Working with both of you was a blast! Thank you all for your everlasting support. WhiskyWhy is sunsetting 🌅 After four years of working on bringing AI to the world of whisky, Tino, Dennis and I are moving on to new adventures. We're closing down on the 23rd of March. If you want a whisky recommendation, please get one soon on whiskywhy.com. For people in the Netherlands, we also still fulfil orders for personalised whisky kits until that date, so get one before they become a collector's item! It has been exciting to work on helping others discover their taste, but it's time for me to start a new journey. For everyone out there who has supported us over the last few years, cheers to you. We are saying farewell to WhiskyWhy (very soon). 🥃 Over the last five years, Martijn, Dennis and I have pivoted, expanded, and shared our passion for whisky with over 4000 registered users from over 50 countries, recommending more than 100.000(!) bottles of whisky. But as they say, startups do not die when they run out of money, they die when the founders run out of energy. The moment has come for us to explore new horizons.
