Donderdag kun je ons tegenkomen de BioVelddag bij Lelystad. Onze gehygiëniseerde mestkorrels van meelwormenmest worden regelmatig ingezet als klasse-B meststof in de biologische landbouw. Dit is bij uitstek een toepassing waar de natuurlijke plantbescherming van chitine extra van waarde kan zijn. Mocht u ook aanwezig zijn, kom dan even een praatje maken als u meer wilt weten over organisch meststoffen of insectenkweek.
Gisteren mochten we weer een biologische akkerbouwer blij maken met 8 ton mestkorrels. De tijd om te bemesten is weer begonnen. Bent u ook op zoek naar duurzaam geproduceerde en gehygieniseerde mestkorrels die chitine bevatten?

At last years country fair we noticed that our customers were somewhat intimidated by the prospect of carrying around an 8kg bag of fertilizer while browsing the fair. Henceforth, we are now introducing a new booster pack of 1,5kg of our sanitized organic fertlizer for your garden. All made from homegrown mealworm frass. ♻️ Together with HAS green academy, Venik, Wageningen University & Research scientists have been working on the project '𝙎𝙖𝙛𝙚 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙨'. By growing insects on #residues, the residues are upgraded to feed or food. Chances for #insect #rearing on four yet to be legalized residual streams were identified. 🐛 Among them yellow mealworm, which grew well on dry substrates, specifically CatII meal, but also dried broiler manure and black soldier flies which grew better on wet substrates like homogenized supermarket mix and kitchen waste. These were naturally acidified, which increased their storability. Next to the technical feasibility, we looked at the #safety risks associated with this, and gave advice on how they can be mitigated. Have you been wondering how we produce our organic fertilizer from mealworm frass? We have been using a turn-key pelleting and sanitation line from Dorset. The sanitation keeps the pellets at above 70 degrees for 1 hour to ensure our fertilizer pellets comply with EU regulation . This is required for sales/export. From the our bunker the frass is being dosed into the pellet press. The press makes the powder into pellets. After pressing the pellets are sieved and enter the sanitation. After the sanitation, the pellets are cooled to make them hard. The sanitized fertilizer pellets are stored in a large bunker before they are dosed into a big bag or paper bags. You do need substantial quantities of frass for the purchase to be viable. If you have below 5 t/w mealworm frass, this is probably too big for you. Our version can process about 400 kg/h. www.dorset.nu
