NL EASP AIR is preparing the deployment of one of its 3 DORNIER DO328 Special Mission Aircraft for fire fighting operations. The DO328 is intended to serve as an aerial observation and air surveillance platform, for mapping (heavy) fire locations and heat cells. Such deployment includes aerial observation operations with FLIR EO/IR and SatCom systems for top-cover and the provisioning of an on-site aerial coordination platform for Air Attack Officers, specialists and observers of the regional fire authorities. Among the capabilities is the detection and location of civilians and firefighters in the operational area via Cell Phone Locator technology and the provision of air drop capability for airdropping of firefighters and fire fighting equipment (paras + gear). easpair.aero/firefighting/
