Yinson recently hosted a knowledge sharing series, “Global FPSO & CCUS Market Outlook” at our Global Headquarters in Kuala Lumpur. The session, which was well attended by analysts in the energy space, featured Samuel Low, Partner & Head of APAC Advisory, Rystad Energy. Samuel discussed the future of energy, emphasising the need for a balanced transition from traditional fuels to renewable energy sources. He noted that while oil, gas, and coal will decline, renewable energy will need to grow significantly to meet global energy demand. The peak oil forecast has been moved to the mid-2030s due to slower-than-expected EV adoption and resilient petrochemical demand. The importance of continued investments in upstream development is needed to avoid volatile energy prices. On the topic of the FPSO market, Samuel provided an optimistic outlook driven by robust investments in offshore deep water production. He noted that FPSOs have shown higher project IRRs compared to other offshore developments and are resilient against low oil prices. The market is expected to see an average of 10-11 FPSO awards per year from 2025 to 2030, with significant activity in South America, West Africa, and Asia. However, challenges such as financing, yard capacity, and supply chain disruptions remain. "The FPSO market is poised for significant growth driven by deep water and ultra-deepwater production needs, but the number of players is decreasing,” Samuel shared. “I foresee a busy period for the FPSO market with a backlog of projects to complete and more tenders coming from regions like South America and West Africa to importantly meet future energy demands." On the CCUS market, he acknowledged that although there has been an increasing number of promising projects globally, there are many challenges to be addressed. Key challenges include securing a convincing business case, financing, and regulatory approvals. Nevertheless, he recognised that the current environment presents pockets of investment opportunities for institutions that are keen to participate in establishing a sustainable and viable carbon value chain infrastructure. Yinson wishes to thank Samuel for his time to impart his knowledge with our guests. Stay tuned for more series similar to this. #Yinson #Passionatelydeliveringpowerfulsolutions #investorengagement

In celebration of International Volunteer Day, Yinson is committed to advocating for environmental conservation and preservation. Recently, a team of 21 Yinson employees had the opportunity to volunteer at the Gibbon Conservation Society (GCS), where we contributed to the well-being of 14 gibbons by providing fresh produce for the gibbons and sponsoring a 4-door chiller to preserve the food’s freshness. Led by Mariani Ramli, President and Founder of GCS, we learned about GCS’ comprehensive approach to wildlife conservation and their goal of releasing rehabilitated gibbons back into the wild with post-release monitoring. We also built various enrichment puzzles to enhance the gibbons’ lives. We crafted toys to improve their foraging skills and made treats to stimulate their curiosity about food. Additionally, we planted plants in bamboo pots using a special soil mixture enriched with gibbon feces to boost fertilisation. Driven by our commitment to CSR, Yinson is proud to support GCS and looks forward to continuing our efforts to make a significant impact on wildlife conservation.
