Zeekr is the global luxury electric mobility technology brand from Geely Holding Group. Zeekr aims to create a fully integrated user ecosystem with innovation as a standard. The brand utilizes the Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) and includes its battery technologies, battery management systems, electric motor technologies, and electric vehicle supply chain. The R&D center was established more than a decade ago in Gothenburg, Sweden, and boasts state-of-the-art facilities and world-class expertise. The engineering team based here works on core technologies including vehicle architectures, powertrain, chassis, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). They also collaborate with start-ups, innovation hubs, and academia in Sweden and from around the world to pave the way for future sustainable mobility. The Design centre, also located in Gothenburg, is home to a diverse, international team working in disciplines including exterior and interior design, color, materials, human-machine interface (HMI), and digital and physical modeling. The inside of the five-floor building boasts an open layout to encourage all teams to work together as a single, unified group.

The Tunnel, The Mountain, and The EV: Testing Zeekr in Extreme Conditions Some people test patience; I test cars. And let me tell you, there’s nothing quite like taking a Zeekr 001 AWD, armed with snow mode, air suspension, and toasty heated seats, into the wilds of Scandinavia to put our engineering to the ultimate test. This week? Extraordinary. I started in Gothenburg, bounced like a pinball to the Swedish East Coast, then made my way to Trondheim—because testing isn’t just about the road, it’s about the journey. On the way—using Wireless Android Auto, naturally—I caught up with my brilliant colleagues Ole Kristian Ågotnes and Ronnie Gillstedt they informed me that yes, you can book a test drive in Trondheim and Oslo! https://lnkd.in/dDzYYN-X The highlights: Lærdalstunnelen: Picture this—24.5 kilometers of road stretching into infinity (or so it feels). It’s the world’s longest road tunnel, and each 20-minute crossing was a blend of brilliant engineering and connected comfort. Fun fact: The tunnel has mobile network coverage, so the car’s hotspot never dropped! Perfect for those mid-tunnel Spotify playlists. Sognefjellsvegen: Northern Europe’s highest mountain pass, soaring from sea level to 1434 meters. It’s where snow likes to remind you who’s boss, but Snow Mode kindly told it, “Not today.” Combine that with air suspension, heated seats, and heated steering wheel, it’s like riding a luxury cloud through winter wonderland. But what about the range? Let’s just say the car’s range didn’t break a sweat—even when the temperatures did. Cold weather can be rough on EVs, but thanks to our battery management system, this wasn’t an issue. Every kilometer reinforced why Zeekr is a game-changer in the EV world. Why do I love this job? Testing isn’t just about data—it’s about stories. Stories of innovation, exploration, and a few too many G̶a̶s̶ Electric station coffees. Each drive is a testament to what we’re building: cars that handle the toughest roads, keep you connected, and make you feel, quite literally, in the driver’s seat.
