Financial Controller

The role

We are looking for a hands-on Financial Controller to manage the month-end close, prepare financial statements, control the AR/AP process and other tasks of the finance department. You will be a right hand to a CFO and working alongside the AR/AP specialist. This role requires the experience of directly performing month-end close, knowledge of key financial processes in the company and the ability to manage a broad range of finance-related responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of and manually conduct the month-end closing process.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly stakeholder reports.
• Control and forecast cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity. This includes managing the factoring facility and company’s credit insurance.
• Control day-to-day operations, including: invoicing, payment processing, dispute resolution, overseeing collections.
• Payroll and HR document management.
• Preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Expense management, ensuring adherence to the budget.
• Optimization and documentation of financial processes.
  
  
  

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience as a Controller, Head of Finance, Sr. Accountant or other senior role in corporate finance.
• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience of manual month-end close process is a must, ideally within the logistics or transportation sector.
• Strong knowledge of Exact and high proficiency with Excel.
• Knowledge of Dutch GAAP and tax compliance.
• Experience with factoring and credit insurance is a big plus.
• Experience of organizing debt collection procedures is a plus.
• Familiarity with BI tools is a plus.
• A good command of the Dutch and English language is a must, both written and oral.
