General Ledger Accountant

We have a fulltime position for the role of Accountant General Ledger in Amsterdam.

Please Note: Only apply if you already live in the Netherlands and you have experience within Treasury or good knowledge of Treasury products.

Profile:

The accounting department is responsible for the complete Financial Administration including the statuary reporting as well as the monthly group reporting. The main focus is the Treasury Accounting. This includes the valuation and accounting of financial instruments and the Hedge Accounting of derivatives.

Responsibilities:

You will be working in a small international team, reporting directly to the Head of Accounting:

As a Treasury Accountant you will be responsible for the monthly closing procedure for one or two entire entities within IFRS group reporting

• Reconcile the automatic treasury postings (majority of journal entries)
• Operate subledgers on a daily basis (minority of journal entries): Subledger Bank: daily bank reconciliation & basic cash management; Subledger Accounts Payable: processing of creditor invoices and payments; Subledger Assets: record changes in participation values
• Provide supporting documentation to external auditor
• Support the preparation of annual and bi-annual financial statements for statutory reporting

Requirements:

We are looking for a pro-active and ambitious candidate:

• bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration with major Accounting
• at least 5 years of experience in an Accounting department
• understanding the basic accounting principles, accounting concepts and accounting terminology
• experienced with SAP FI
• fast learder and quickly adopting to new digital environments/applications
• fluent in English, both written and spoken (Dutch or German is a plus)
• familiar with the concept of multiple ledger (Dutch GAAP and IFRS)
• experience with financial instruments and derivatives
• excellent skills in Excel
