Opportunity Overview

For our expanding international operations, Rhythm Pharmaceuticals is looking for a highly motivated candidate for the role of Junior Accountant.

The Junior Accountant will be part of our Accounting and Controlling team and support the International Controller with operational financial accounting for the international subsidiaries.

The role will be based in the Netherlands in our Amsterdam office and reports directly to the International Controller. The candidate should have knowledge and expertise in working in an international setting, in a high growth environment.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Execution of all transactional accounting activities for Rhythm’s International subsidiaries.
• Prepare journal entries
• Internal controls preparer - International entities
• Create account reconciliations
• Process Expense reports for our International business
• Other finance tasks, as required
• Support finance improvement projects.
• Support the International Controller with accounting activities for the statutory accounting compliance.
• Together with the Corporate Controller and the International Controller maintain and improve a strong internal control environment.
  

Qualifications And Skills

• Accounting degree on HBO level or similar.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting in an international environment.
• Experience with pharmaceutical/ biotech industry preferred.
• Proven experience working with outside service providers preferred.
• Able to speak different European languages (on top of English). Preferred German, French or Italian.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines and multi-task efficiently.
• Support international growth projects from a finance perspective.
• Strong analytical skills and be able to proactively propose process improvements.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with high level of ethics and integrity.
• Hands-on mentality.
  
  

Rhythm operates in a hybrid work environment. This role is based out of our international office in Amsterdam. Candidates applying must be willing and able to be in the Amsterdam office in coordination with their department and business needs.
