Efficient warehouse and transport management are essential parts of effective Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE). I often receive the question if you can buy software for S&OE. My answer is ‘yes’ and ‘no’. You cannot buy S&OE in one software package like Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP). But software solutions for S&OE comprises of different applications like Transport Management System (TMS), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), and warehouse Management System (WMS).   After a very successful IT Demo Day with several TMS vendors earlier this year, we will organize a session around WMS with 5 solution providers in Amsterdam on October 9. The supply chain software vendors Oracle, Consafe Logistics Group, Körber Supply Chain, Generix Solutions, and PSI Logistics will give a live demo of their WMS solution in parallel rooms.   I’m really looking forward to attend this five sessions in just one afternoon. Together with manufacturing, wholesale, retail and logitisc companies looking for a WMS solution, I will get better and more insights in the wants and needs of companies to manage their often large and complex warehouses to service their customers efficiently and effectively in a very dynamic market.
